The newest addition to Lyons typically below average restaurant scene. As always we were skeptical to try another spot in town, but this place truly delivered. We had the wings and ahi tacos, the oar burger and mussels and everything exceeded our expectations. The mussels were big and the garlic wine sauce was delicious. The tacos were sashimi grade sushi tacos with a sweet and spicy kick. The burger was so tender and juicy paired with hand cut fries. Full wings, I mean the drumstick and wing as one. Never seen wings presented like this but they were great! Wish the weather was nicer so we could have eaten out on their huge patio! I would have to say this was the best meal I have had in Lyons in years!

We’ve been to the Ax and Oar twice. Both times the food and drinks were good. Tonight I had the Parmesan crusted grilled cheese with tomato basil soup and it was delicious. My husband’s tacos were good and our friends enjoyed their burgers. The only problem is that this place is really loud. Tonight there was a party with kids running around everywhere. We were yelling at each other in order to have a conversation. Our server couldn’t give us other seats, so we had to just deal with it. Call me a curmudgeon, but that’s not my idea of relaxing.

Good food and service. The pork tacos and veggie tacos were excellent. The Axe burger and the bomb grilled cheese were also very good. I’ll definitely consider going back the next time I’m in Lyons.

Excellent food and service every time I’ve been here! The wings are massive, the cheese paddles and tomato soup are comfort food at its best, and the Ax Burger, topped with a runny egg, is perfectly delicious!
