This place is cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. I had the veggie burrito and it was small and not very tasty.

Friendly staff and great food. They were out of yogurt after I’d ordered and paid, but they switched me for a gluten free breakfast sandwich free of charge. Yum!

After a morning hike at Rocky Mt Park, my friend and I were starving but needed something quick to eat that didn’t involve fast food. We drove away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park and through Lyons and found just what we were craving at Barking Dog. Delicious sandwiches, freshly baked goods, and really good coffee. I forget what sandwich I had but it involved a flavorful pesto spread and bacon. YUMMY. My friend got a caprese type sandwich and totally devoured hers too … in addition to her nuttella latte. I opted for a basic americano, which was perfectly smooth, not too strong, and not too bitter. A very happy meal in a cozy space filled with canine inspired artwork was a great first impression for us out-of-towners.

I love coming to Lyons specifically for Barking Dog Café. I especially love their breakfast burrito and the coffee is good. Great vibes and cool atmosphere. Today I was very turned off by my barista who didn’t greet me at all, had zero eye contact, lacked customer service, and failed to announce when my food was ready. Despite the bad service today, Barking Dog remains one of my favorite coffee shops. I recommend a try!

Haven’t been in Lyons in a long time so my daughter and I stopped at this cool little café right in the middle of Main Street. Very friendly lots of locals. What’s not to like exclamation point

Best coffee shop around! The baked treats by Amanda are incredible, especially the quiche. Awesome coffee, great seating both indoors and out for friends or for working, good music, and the staff is a huge part of the Lyons family.

This was on the way to ROMO park. I decided to grab a breakfast burrito prior to a day of hiking. The prices are extremely reasonable and the town is a very cozy area. Not too much else to add except that the place was busy with locals which seems to be a good sign.

This place feels a little greasy(somehow, for a coffee shop), but the iced coffee was quite good!

Very nice coffee and sandwich shop. I had a Nutella latte, which was quite good. The froth on top was creamy and just the right amount.

This place has great coffee, serves my favorite chai tea, has good food and homemade bread and pies. Nice relaxed atmosphere, dog friendly, and plenty of outdoor seats in the summer. Definitely stop in if you are ever heading through Lyons!

Breakfast, teas, lattes, pastries, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, and smoothies, and super cheap day old baked goods; this place rocks. Dropped by after a nice bike ride to Lyons and was fully stoked to be able to expend the rest of the cash in my wallet($ 3.00) for some post-ride sustenance, an awesomely moist raspberry and chocolate muffin(I would have taken a photo, but I devoured it within seconds) and a somewhat ok «fig bar» pack. The not too exciting«Fig bar» pack was not the fault of the barking dog café — they didn’t make it there; just a pre-packaged product sold along with the cliff bars and fruit leathers. That muffin really was excellent. There are nice tables. some provide sun protection with umbrellas, out front, rocking chairs, and bizarre artwork fashioned onto their newspaper dispenser — the Lyons Recorder. Inside, there are tables with people dining, sipping on coffee, and working on their computer. Cool artwork is strewn throughout the establishment, and along with the comfy chairs and tables, the place makes for a cozy spot to spend some time. O yea, there’s also a huge patio outback with more seating and tables. Dogs welcome.

Good coffee, decent to good food, nice location, good service. The locals love this place. I would go back. Live music on occasion.

I recently moved to Lyons and was looking for a place where I could have some tea and get some work done on my computer. I decided to stop in at Barking Dog Café along main street. The atmosphere is eclectic but it also has a warm, cosy feeling to it. The staff was friendly and the tea was great. They have free wifi and there are plenty of outlets so it turned out to be a good place to work on my laptop. I will likely be a regular here.

Three stars for the friendly staff and atmosphere; two stars for the food. Pleasant café — too bad the food did not measure up. I drive through Lyons once a week on my way to hike in the mountains. This time I was hungry and stopped at the café. Purchased one cheese+vegie sandwich and a piece of pie for later. The sandwich was tasty but disappointing — there was one small and thin piece of cheese and the avocado pieces(that cost an extra $ 1) were so miniscule I had to search the sandwich carefully to find anything. Only thing generous in this sandwich was the overly large slices of onion. I was still hungry after this inadequate lunch so I tackled the pie — worse, much much worse. Bland, anemic bottom crust + canned fruit filling. Ate the filling and threw the rest away(would not normally have eaten the fruit but I had a 10 mile hike ahead of me). Next time I will just remember to pack my food ahead of time and save $ 13. They seem like nice people so hopefully they can improve their food.

I wanted to snuggle in and stay awhile here. I probably would have too, if my other half wasn’t in a hurry to get back to town to prep for a business meeting. Shoot! The dog theme was well executed without being tacky or overbearing(a couch with some upholstery, art work, pastries in dog bone and dog shapes, logos, etc. The cookie I got was out of this world(I may or may not have seen a 4 year old excitedly identify and ask for the exact same kind) and they have almond milk to make chai with(as well as 3rd street or Bhakti). Score! My favorite was a little detail that I’ll leave so that you can enjoy it for yourself. Check out the wi-fi login password. It will be sure to make you smile.

The barking dog is just our favorite place to go when stopping through Lyons especially in the early mornings before enjoying a good hike. They have a great seating area in front and outback and are dog friendly outside. Don’t forget to keep your ears open for some good bluegrass

Just stopped in and had an amazing sausage, egg and mozzarella cheese on a croissant. It was fluffy sand perfect. The coffee was also very good and had many options for sweeteners. Great service with a smile!

Yum Yum Yum The mochas and chai tea here is awesome! I also tried the egg bagel sandwich, a little too much cream cheese for my taste but it was still good. This is one of my traditional stops I make once I make it into lyons to visit my family.
