Wanted a breakfast table set that was very specific and hard to find. Didn’t trust the various internet websites offering the set for sale but wouldn’t have inventory for weeks/​months. Called Darrin and he said he can have the set delivered to me in a few days. As promised everything was delivered, one of the items was slightly damaged and Darrin was able to swap out the damage item. The item and price and especially the delivery was exceptional. All my future furniture needs I will check with Darrin first.

We got a queen mattress from here today. Decent prices.

He didn’t have what we were looking for but assured us he could get it but in order to get it he needed payment up front. We were a little hesitant but Darrin seemed like a nice guy. He is a Salesman! He told us if we bought the bed now he would deliver it by weeks end and save us the delivery charge because he had no mark up on the bed. Well the bed came and within just a few months was already worn out springs almost popping through. This mattress was a re manufactured one, where they just put new coverings and foam on it then wrap it in plastic wrap. The box spring was junk and made a ton of noise and creaking sounds.
We would not recommend this type of business go with a large company where they carry brand names and real warranties.
We ended up buying a memory foam mattress from Sam’s club that would have been cheaper to do in the first place plus we have had no problems and sleep well every night.

Happy with my purchase. I came in on a budget just browsing ended up finding a mattress that was a little above my price range but we were able to make it work. Darrin was straight to the point and I am happy I didn’t have to deal with the whole sales-​man routine. He delivered my mattress and was quick and efficient. I will definitively be coming back for purchases in the future.

I was really impressed! There was a small selection, but I was definitely pleased with the bed we chose. It was 650 which was pretty affordable for the quality. Darrin even delivered that same night, for free since we lived close by. We were late, and he was at our place about ¹⁰⁄₁₅ minutes before us, but he was very patient and nice about everything. Our bed is great too! I would definitely recommend. It isn’t like a normal furniture store — no sales pitching. It was a great experience overall!

I found Midwest Furnishings on Craigslist and was skeptical at first. After reading all the reviews here and researching a particular dining table online, I decided to give him a call (must have appointment).
Darrin set an appointment for the following day. His warehouse is in Lyons and does not look like a traditional furniture store (think simple brick building) Pay close attention to the street numbers or you’ll pass it up.
The table was exaclty the same that I had seen on his website. Just like all the other reviews say, he’s personable and down to earth. If you are looking for great furniture pieces at discounted prices, try him. We would use him again.

2÷17÷12: Any business owner that will make the situation right after three years I have to give credit to. The owner refunded the money I paid for the frame and sent a letter of apology. VERY rare in today’s business world. Thank you.
12÷16÷11: The owner acknowledged my issue over a year ago and emailed me and asked for my address to deliver a replacement frame. That never happened.
This guy is AWESOME! You have to call and set an appointment before you go! I found them in the Chicago Tribune. I too was suffering with the high prices of even off name beds in the city. The drive to Lyons is worth it. I got a pillow top Queen for 275, frame for 40 and delivery to downtown area for 60. They were able to delivery the next day. I will definitely use this company again!
I have to come back and edit because the bed frames are cheap and had to be replaced twice. Sorry, my next purchase will not be from here.

When I moved to Chicago, I had no idea how much beds cost.
I wanted a new queen-​sized mattress and box spring for a few hundred dollars, but I also wanted a name I could trust.
Soon, I realized I was dreaming.
Then I found Midwest Furnishings.
Sure, they operate out of a warehouse. Sure, the selection isn’t as wide as some furniture galleries. But if you want a quailty new bed with a warranty and a brand name, Midwest is a gold mine.
I paid $ 350 for my queen plush Simmons set. The suggested retail price is more than $ 1,200.
If you live in the city, Lyons is a bit of a drive, but the savings are well worth it, and the salesman is a gem.
He’s not really even a salesman, just a guy with some mattresses for a great price — no pressure. We talked about Wisconsin, California women and traffic in Chicago. I actually had fun while shoppin.
Delivery to Logan Square (straight into my apartment) came to $ 60. I realized I only had $ 56 cash on me, and the delivery guys were totally cool about it.
