Great captain and deck hand. Boats in great shape. We caught lots of fish and had a great time.

We went out with Maui Fun Charters April of 2015. It was a lot of fun! The boat was nice and the captain was a fun guy. We all caught multiple species of fish. What made the whole trip come together was taking our catch to the Fairmont and having the chef create a custom dinner for our large group. I highly recommend this charter as a great family fun way to get out on the water and catch a variety of fish species. Get out, catch a bunch of fish, then come back with time enjoy the entire afternoon! finish the day off eating your custom dinner at the KO restaurant. What a special experience in Maui.

Had a great experience with these guy’s! Very friendly, we caught a ton of fish and they made the experience so worth the cost. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to go out, spend sometime on the water and enjoy some good fishing.

Had a wonderful fishing trip today. This was my second time on a fishing charter so I wasn’t sure what to expect. the captain definitely didn’t disappoint! Every person on board(8 of us) caught fish. Blue line snapper, pinks snapper, hogfish, mahi, and a few big eyes. Caption was very knowledgable, ensured everyone had a good time and took some fish home with them. I would definitely recommend this company!

So I have been fishing for pelagic’s many times and was a bit apprehensive going«bottom fishing» although its usually where you get the good eating fish. Well this trip was no exception to that rule. We did hit a bunch of pink snapper, blue line something’s and a bunch of other small local fish. CAUTION! if your expectations are for 300 pound tuna, this isn’t your boat(and frankly you are in the wrong part of the world to catch those in Maui anyway). We did troll out and back and actually hooked a nice female Mahi(Dorado) which was the first fish in the boat. All shared in the take at the end of the day(this is the coolest part). As a part of their great service, the boat(others may have the same deal not sure) has a relationship with a local 5 star restaurant located in the Fairmont(called KO) that will actually cook what you have caught that day. To me that was the thing that got a business that did a great job on the water to a 5 star Unilocal rating. We took the fish(Mahi fillets, wife caught a rare gold spotted trevally so fillets from that, and a couple of pink snapper) to the restaurant and actually met with the chef, talked to him about the fish and came up with a game plan for 3 nights of dinner using OURFISH!!. To me a business that integrates their services with your trip and other business deserves a 5 star rating. In addition, Captain Mo coordinated having a classic Japanese rice print made from my wife’s fairly rare catch. While not inexpensive, it will be a cherished memory on the wall with a fish tale to tell and a great meal to boot. Fish with these guys if you want a great time, knowledgeable crew/captain/and a holistic view of catching/eating/fish and remembering your trip.

Who doesn’t love being on the ocean, riding around in a comfortable boat and fishing! Every time we go out, something different and cool happens. Whether its the type of bait we’re using, the species of fish we caught, or seeing something on the water, its all great! Love going out with Team Maui Fun Charters!

This was the highlight of our family’s trip to Maui. All of us – kid and adult alike — caught fish after fish after fish. Captain Kelly navigated us precisely to a series of his favorite spots, using a combination of charts, GPS, and sonar to guide us to the exact spot from which to drift over the school of targeted fish. We caught almost a dozen blue line snapper, about a half dozen pink snapper, two trigger fish, and a hogfish. Trolling back into harbor, we also caught a wavy back tuna. This is definitely the way to fish in Hawaii — or for that matter, anywhere. The weather is warm, even out on the water. The boat is spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. The crew(Kelly and Alex) are hospitable, helpful, and extremely knowledgable — about about the local waters and fish, about Hawaii, and about relevant scientific principles.(My kids loved learning about meteorology and the on-board technology.). And the fish are out-of-this world delicious to eat.
