This is all about the donuts. Not for eating as much as making paintings out of them. It’s what I do.

I have (2) QT’s within 3 minutes in either direction from my home. That always made them convenient for picking up beer and such when the need arose. However, as of late, QT seems to have gone big-​time into the donut selling business and I’m more than thrilled.

Not only do they have an ever changing colored variety of jimmie covered numbers (right now it’s orange & black halloween versions). Not to mention, some classic fried and glazed versions of the beautiful treats. But what rocks is they are now also carrying these white and chocolate frosted ones with either red or green swirl patterns on them. They look amazing. There are supposed to be blue ones too, but no one working there has seen them yet outside the advertising posters in the store.

The fact that I can run down the street to stock up my studio with donuts is both a blessing and a curse. The demand to make these donut paintings is huge again, but my studios shelves are once more becoming full of donuts — set up for aging and eventual inclusion into a painting.

Don’t stop with the donuts anytime soon fellas… in fact, I want to see more.
