AMAZING! — Today was my first time stopping by. I was craving some soul food. The Lady in front was very nice. She gave me a quick run down of what they had. I ordered the fried pork chops. It came with rice plus 2 additional sides and a choice of bread. I got the chicken flavored rice, mac and cheese, cabbage and a cornbread muffin. The pork chops were fried fresh to order. The sides were already made of course, but everything was served hot. So, the pork chops were superb! There were 2 of them. They were juicy, tender and seasoned to perfection, all with a nice crust! The mac and cheese was cheesy goodness! I finished it first. The cabbage and rice were both good as well. Even, the cornbread muffin was good, just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, it was a nice experience! I will definitely be going back! I’m stuffed!

A great find. It’s a good place, staffed by good people who are really good cooks. I truly enjoyed myself. Pork chops, field peas, okra stew, yellow rice and a corn muffin coupled with pleasant conversation with the staff. Yes, I’m coming back.

I tried this place based on recommendations for soul food. First, it was tricky location, easy to pass by, as I had on several occasions not realizing it was there. The food was ok– it seemed to range from either under seasoned(ribs) to too salty to eat(cabbage). The ribs were cooked well as far as texture, they easily came of the bone. The collards were good, the cabbage was salty and over cooked and finally the Mac and cheese just didn’t deliver on flavor. It tasted like noodles cooked with a cheese sauce not authentic baked mac and cheese. Overall I don’t get the hype as it was just ok to me, maybe it was an off day? I may give it a second try with some of the other menu options in the future.

Always looking for a great soul food spot. We arrived as they were setting the food out for business. The hot bar choices were fantastic. The service was also great. They were very accommodating and treated each customer that came in like family. Wish we had time to go back on Sunday to try the oxtails but time didn’t allow it. The wings with the sweet and spicy house sauce were incredible. Will definitely be going back!

Visited after a recommendation from a friend. Great customer service. Very professional, but I just didn’t like the food. Ordered fried chicken, cabbage and mac & cheese. The chicken would have been great with more seasoning, cabbage was cooked a bit too long for my preference, and the mac & cheese wasn’t baked. Cornbread didn’t have much flavor.

They ran out of half the food on the menu, staff was nice but seemed a bit disorganized, the food that was left was tasty but the speckled butter beans were very salty.

Was close by on business and as I’ve spread the Unilocal love to my colleagues when possible, one of them Unilocaled this place and I said«I’m in» without actually reading the reviews. I had directions to the place on google maps and when I pulled in the parking lot, I had to do a double take. First I didn’t see the place, then when I saw the place I thought, … NO. but trusting the Unilocal 4.5 star rating I had heard about and my colleague’s excitement, I pressed onward. The reception was friendly, not bubbly but nice to explain the menu and what to do. I picked the BBQ chicken, chicken rice, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The BBQ chicken was a thick and sweet BBQ sauce with spices infused, tender and juicy, 5 stars. The Mac and Cheese had more cheese than the entire state of Wisconsin, 5 stars. Chicken rice, flavorful, tangy, 5 stars. Now here’s the tru test. the test of all tests. I hate okra. And they had an okra stew. I thought if I can even tolerate the stew, this place would be a winner. So I got a serving. I took a taste. And another. And at the bottom of the bowl I declared that it was one of the best stews I’ve had. It was spicey, the ingredients fresh, and really popping flavor. The owner made sure to come by and ask if we liked everything and if there was anything he could do for us. Icing on the cake, Willie, and all of his sisters, get 5 stars from me.

I had eaten here a couple years back when it first opened and remembered enjoying the smothered chicken. With an incessant craving for good soul food the past few weeks, I had to satiate the urge. Ordered take-out a couple days with the following: Pigs Feet Turkey Wings Hog Mawgs Smothered Chicken Candied Yams Collards Mac n’ cheese Oxtails Stewed Chicken Corn Stuffing Black beans Okra Stew Everything has been really good and filling. If I had to choose, would pick Mac n’ cheese, smothered chicken, corn stuffing, and Okra stew. Don’t forget about the turkey wings and collards either. The oxtails were a bit too fatty in my opinion, black beans a tad bit over salty, and pigs feet could have used more seasoning. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the customer service was great.

Hands down the best soul food I’ve had in the Atlanta area! I came to GA in 2007 from VA and have always been on the hunt for an authentic soul food spot. I’ve had some that are ok and others that are just a joke. No where that I’ve been to more than 2 – 3 times. This place has brought my search to an end! I went by on a Saturday and the people working were extremely welcoming. Took the time to explain just about every item on the menu and I also noticed while waiting that they were constantly interacting with the people who were dining in an waiting. We tried the pork chops and the smoked ribs(best I’ve ever had) and a variety of sides. Even had a fresh made Arnold palmer. Bottom line this place is a hidden gem. Great people and even better food… They will know me on a first name basis soon!

The owner’s are friendly people, but the food is just not all that good to me or my boyfriend. My smothered pork chop was tough and his oxtails were so so We are from the country and we had decided that there is definitely a difference between city soul food and country soul food, but hey I digress. Everyone else seems to love it. They do give you decent portion sizes.

My first visit was 1 week ago, 2÷21÷16. I’ve been back twice. My first visit, I had 2 plates(to go). 1st plate… oxtails with chicken rice, collard greens, mac & cheese(cheesy cheesy cheesy) and cornbread muffin. 2nd plate was turkey wings, dressing, collards & candied yams. The portions are large! I couldn’t eat my plate. My friend didn’t want his. I had enough food to get me through 4 days and I still ended up throwing away some of it. I usually won’t eat left overs past Wednesday if food was cooked on Sunday. Everything was delicious. Well seasoned. The ladies were very personable and great explaining that some vegetables change daily. I told them I’ll return. Did I return? I surely did!!! Wednesday…I ordered pork chop sandwich with fries $ 4.99& side of okra stew. I don’t know the last time I had a pork chop? I think it was worth raising my blood cm. The chop & fries were cooked to order. So. …here I am again(3rd time), sitting here waiting on my meal to cover the next 2 days as I swype this review. They definitely have a new loyal customer for the time being. … Not sure if it’s a good thing that I now live close to this place. …oh well…

We ordered two rib dinner plates, which totaled $ 25. It was supposed to come with rice. The server forgot to put it in our containers. When we called, they said we could come BACK today to get the rice. Huh? Then they said we could get free rice the next time. When I complained, she said you can get a free side. Then she said, the rice is «complimentary». I said no, it’s advertised as part of the meal!!! Awful customer service!!! And it’s New Year’s Eve, so I don’t have time to drive BACK!!!

My husband and I finally made it over to WIllie B’s a few months ago and we have been back a few times ever since. So far we have tried the Turkey Wings, Smoked Wings, Baked Chicken with the Mac and Cheese and Collards Greens. Everything has been really good so far and the prices are on point for the amount of food you get. I am a fan!

Blink and you might pass Willie B’s Sisters. I’m glad I didn’t. For ten bucks I enjoyed savory beef tips over yellow rice, collared greens, and some of the best mac and cheese I’ve had. The cornbread muffins have something very sweet and pleasant to them — much like the service.

I’ve had the baked tilapia topped with the okra stew, witg greens. My husband got hog maws, greens and I think sweet potatoes. My daughter had hot wings. Only complaint, stew was sweet and to wet, spilled in my car. Good food, good people. 2nd visit hubby had chitterlings, I had ribs, and again baby girl wanted wings. Peons are big. Food was good. Ribs not as tender as I like but tasty. 3rd. We having chiterlings today and wins of course! ! Love the punch card! Love the staff

Where do I start?!? This place is a hidden gem! 2nd time here and it’s just as good as the first. The meatloaf, the collards, the okra stew, the rice, the field peas, did I mention that okra stew! Oh and make sure you get the cornbread. The staff is amazing. She even remembered what I had the previous visit. Very very welcoming when you enter the door. Glad I found the place. I’m sure I’ll be here at least once a week. Good eatin at a great price.

Smoked Pork Ribs??? Yes! I must have passed by this place a million times or more, my sister and one of my closest friends lives in the area so I’m always out this way. While out visiting my friend yesterday I Unilocaled«soul food» and this place popped up. It was .89 miles away( Unilocal distance is not alwayson point). So I decided to check them out. The place is very small, but clean, its what one might call a hole in the wall joint(but, they normally have the best soul food). We felt very welcomed, they were extremely friendly people even though I was tired and drained and probably giving off a less then pleasant vibe myself. The first thing I notice was the huge grill out front, and you could still smell the meat from the smoker as you walk up to the restaurant, which help me determine my meat, RIBS!!! I ordered a rib plate to go, which came with 2 sides and a bread item. I ordered Mac & Cheese & Collard Green w/a cornbread muffin. He also added rice(I didn’t order rice, so I don’t know how that was added, but I appreciated it). The food is set up cafeteria style, which is something I’ve never been a fan of, if you know me, then you know I dislike buffet & cafeteria style restaurants but more than disliking them, I like to EAT!!! — lol I don’t know if I was just really hungry, or if those ribs were the best ribs I’ve ever had, all I know is that I went back to my friend house and inhaled them, no offers we made to anyone, praying that my nieces(my friend little girls) didn’t ask for any either– ha, ha, ha. They were a little spicy and so was the sauce that was served on the side, but yummy. The Mac & cheese was cooked to perfection and the collards greens were seasoned just right. My only complaint, was the temperature of the food, which is my biggest concern when eating at a cafeteria style restaurant… Its wasn’t hot at all, not even very warm. Cornbread muffin was delish, but actually cold. So I had to pop my plate in the microwave for a while. I’m sure I will be stopping in again, but requesting food from the pots in the back. All and all, this was a great find, can’t wait to try the ox tails on my next visit.

Didn’t know what to expect when I first in; however, I was pleasantly surprised. The owner’s husband was very accomodating and gave an explanation of the items on the menu. I wish they had a spot in Bham. You will be happy that you gave them a try; I was!
