Went there for lunch, the almond boneless chicken was partially raw I had to spit it out(embarrassing). I dropped my money on the table left the food there and walked out. Never again.

Great place for take out, for some reason I thought the portions would be smaller since I ordered take out but I ate off of it for three days. Great place and great food.

This is based off of take out orders. I have been coming to Michigan for the past two years and per my fiancé this place has been around 20+ years! They’ve got to be doing something right to keep that up. His family even talks about eating here and how good it is. Several take out orders have been different types of fried rice and wonton soup & chicken/beef dishes.. My step son loves his chicken rice, I have to say it is very good as well. It’s not loaded with carrots and peas, at least ours wasn’t. Just green onion and bok choy. Like I said, we have always ordered take out so I can not comment on cleanliness of bathroom and quality of service.

I love this place! It’s a family run place and I’ve been going to this Chinese restaurant since I can remember. I have tried many other places along the way and none of them come close. I LOVE their egg rolls and egg drop soup. My favorite dishes are the Hunan beef and the chicken chop suey. The inside might not look fancy but the food is definitely worth it!

No alcohol anymore regardless of what the review says, kinda dirty. Didn’t even order.

Chinese food done right. Egg Rolls that are actually made with bean sprouts, Chicken that is juicy, sauces that are not overwhelming or underwhelming. Steak is actually steak and not cheap meat passed off as steak. This restaurant is a jewel to have here in Macomb. There are many Chinese Restaurants in the area, but this is a stand out. Carry out is exactly the same as the eat in portion and the flavor is phenomenal. I do urge you to take the time to eat in, it is a pleasant experience and worth the relaxation of a good evening out.

Friendly service. That’s the only good thing I can say. Their food is so bland. Like the Applebees of Chinese food. I have no idea why anyone would choose this restaurant when there is a fantastic Chinese carryout place right across the street. Save your taste buds and your money and go to Golden Bowl instead.

I used to dine here years ago and I remember it being delicious, so I tried it again while I was in the area. I had the almond chicken luncheon special that comes with soup, egg roll, rice, and tea. The egg drop soup was gelatinous and cold. It tasted ok once I added soy sauce, lots of salt, and even more pepper, but the gelatinous texture was off-putting. The egg roll was fresh and pretty tasty. The sauce and the chicken was lighter in color than I’d expect and there were no almonds visible, but the worst thing was that the sauce was gelatinous, just like the soup. It tasted ok but the texture was unpleasant. I like that the chicken was set atop a bed of bean sprouts rather than lettuce, it provided a fresh crunch, whereas lettuce often gets soggy quickly. I may try New Moon again, but I’d definitely get something different.

I’m surprised there are as many bad reviews. My boyfriend and I just left and we had a great experience. For $ 25 we left stuffed with a carry out box full for each of us. I got the general Taos chicken and he had a combination with almond chicken, beef chow mein and fried rice. Mine could have been a little more spicy, but over all it was good. I would come back again but only if New Great Wall is closed again haha

It’s been a while since I’ve been to New Moon, and after this wonderful meal I’m kicking myself for having passed it by so much in recent years. Let’s start with those great egg rolls. Not overly fried, and thus they were not greasy. Inside a delicious mix of cabbage, chicken and pork, all of which were superbly spiced. Next, New Moon has THEBEST House Special Won Ton Soup with lots of bean sprouts, pea pods, shrimp, chicken, pork and bok choy. The broth is far from bland, with a rich chicken taste without being salty. The Young Chow Fried Rice has a nice mixture of meats and veggies, but I was disappointed that it was fried rice and not white, which is the traditional rice used when preparing this dish. Also not bad, but not a home run either, is the Young Chow Lo Mein. Again, the mixture of meats and veggies were fine, but the noodle was a bit uninspired. Those two dishes aside, the Beef and Pea Pods and the Moo Shoo Pork were both phenomenal. The sauces for both were perfect, and the wraps for the Moo Shoo were not too thick or too thin. If you live in this area, New Moon should be on your radar when looking for great Asian cuisine.

Will not let me post without stars. I had ordered from here and it was my first time ordering from here. I work nights and didnt bring food tonight. I ordered myself the orange chgicken as well as pot stickers and bbq pork. The pot stickers were good I am not gonna lie. The rest of the food was terrible. The orange chicken was flavorless. Actually it had the most mild orange flavor possible. It was heavilly breaded chicken swimming in a corn starch thickend syrup. I pulled out all of the meat and pooered out the syurp style soup. As for the chicken I mentioned it was heavily breaded and I took all of the breading off and threw that out as well. The bbq pork is slices of pork that are dry and chew also swimming in a soup of sauce. The rice was falvorless as well. After throwing out everything bad about this meal I poured the bbq pork over the chicken and rice and it was half way edible. As I write this review I have decided to throw the rest of the food out. I called the place back and complained which I never do and was told the manager would contact me tomorow. I could care less if they do I will not be going back.

If you are looking for the worst Chinese restaurant, this is it. It’s been there for as long as I can remember, so we gave it a try. Chewy, unedible chicken in terrible flavored sauce. Everything tastes like old grease. Inside is old and dirty. I have no idea who keeps this place in business.

I stopped here while on lunch last week. This was the worst chinese food place I have ever been to. Gnat in my drink. bland food. disgusting bathroom; with no soap in either dispenser. The staff was friendly however.

It’s been a while since I reviewed a Chinese joint. Which is why I assume I lost my Elite status… But I thought it was time to return! I’m assuming that they saw these older reviews and changed their gig… Because this place is not bad at all! If you’ve read older reviews, you’d see I order the same meal, and judge it based off that. I of course ordered my usual. Almond chicken, white rice, gravy on the side. Chicken was slightly heavily breaded, but it didn’t taste bad or greasy. It also was very tender, and not tough at all. I ordered the whole portion which seemed to be 3 to 4 breasts. PLENTY to go around. Rice was fine. Sticky and fresh, not hard. Gravy was a bit lumpy, but seemed to smooth out once warmed on the stove in a pan. Something I shouldn’t have to do. But it tasted good, so I’ll let it pass. Normally I’d have to drive further for the same quality of food, so I think this might be my new local spot. Give it a try, and disregard those old reviews.

We moved nearby new moon a few months ago and have gotten carryout several times. Can’t go wrong with sweet & sour chicken. The soups are not great but other than that we’ve enjoyed our carryouts. The staff is also very friendly.

This place is dirty. Saw that when I walked in. Ordered and had a large bug in my water. Everyone else ate, but I did not. They said their food was also bad. Stay away!

This is one you need to avoid. I use to go there religiously at least every two weeks or so, but then, a month ago I started to eat my meal and had the egg drop soup with the noodles that come on the side. In the noodles were bugs!!! The waitress came, removed that one and brought me another, looked like something was in those as well. I told the owner and she said she would look into it and gave me a 10% discount on my bill… REALLY10% If it were my restuarant I would have said its on the house and I am terribly sorry and beg for forgiveness. In the past I would have rated this at least a 3 star, but given what has happened along with this establishment hasn’t been updated in decades,. we have moved down the scale. Beward…Check your food!!! I am done with this one… too bad too.

I do not agree with these reviews. We live really close to New Moon and there is something to be said about good, basic, comfort Chinese Food. I have never eaten in the dining area, we get take out only, and have been very pleased with our selections. The owner is a bit rough around the edges, but can be very funny if you get her humor. She knows her regulars and always makes sure your order is complete and accurate. The portions are large and family combo meals are nicely priced.
