Excellently run business here. Yes they are closed thru the winter but it’s still a local thrill when they open in the spring. People flock there in droves! Jim always hires great youngsters to work there and if I could give 6 stars I would!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Macomb, IL
Im not sure whether to be shocked or dismayed that given how super freaking popular this place is in town, no one has yet reviewed it. After 15 years of this place and getting something at least once a week each summer and spring, I am departing from my usual chain rules and giving this place four stars, for the following reasons. Menu: Menu here is restricted to the full ice cream selection sans the Ice Cream Cakes, which I am sure can be ordered. They do offer Chili Dogs and Regular dogs, but thats about it on the food side. Straightforward and simple. They do have the specials you see on TV that are ice cream based. Staff: Universally polite high schoolers who manage to get the orders out reasonably quick. If you have a problem, they fix it quick, but I have only had one in about 15 years. Hours: On season they are open late into the evening, which is perfect for those hot summer nights. They are usually closed from around Mid October to around March each year. Which actually makes it a seasonal treat you look forward to in Macomb. Appearance: This Dairy Queen is a standalone kiosk set up with some tables around it. However it manages not to get messy or look grubby ever, They keep it clean, and I like that. Overall, this place not only sticks to the brand but keeps standards high in all areas. This place has been a part of many of the citizens of Macombs lives for decades. For students of WIU, it is as much a part of being in Macomb as eating at ISS or going to the Pace.
