Auggies Smokehouse /Ram’s Horn Pros: Friendly staff, affordable prices, ample portions Cons: Confusing menu, chilly On January 9th, 2014, I decided to try Auggies Smokehouse on 23 Mile Rd. in Macomb for a light dinner. It was around 5:00 pm, and my wife and I had the place practically to ourselves. While we were eating our meal there eas a steady stream of people coming in the door, but everyone was seated easily and tended to promptly. My wife and I were given two Rams Horn menus, and one that we had to share for Auggies Smokehouse with a ‘Specials’ insert. My wife asked about the Monte Cristo sandwich on the ‘Specials’ list, which apparently was the first our server knew about Auggies offering a Monte Cristo sandwich. I guess the transition from Rams Horn to Auggies is still on-going. My wife ended up ordering the Monte Cristo sandwich, while I ordered the Cobb salad from the Rams Horn menu. Both dishes arrived promptly and the servings were filling. Our server made sure we never had to wonder where she’d went, and my only real complaint, is that by the time I’d finished my meal, I was beginning to feel quite cold. Over all, my experience at Auggies Smokehouse was quite enjoyable. Sitting next to the window with the extreme cold we’ve been experiencing this winter probably had a lot to do with me getting cold during my meal. The separate menus was a bit confusing. Is it a Rams Horn restaurant that’s added Auggies food? Or, is it Auggies Smokehouse and the Rams Horn stuff is gradually going away? Either way, they definitely ensured I’ll be back to find out. If anyone has any questions about Auggies Smokehouse, leave a comment to my review and I’ll get back to you.

Just a simple diner. Good specials now and again. Can be a bit over priced but good food.
