MY husband went to return a few plants we bought last year that failed to thrive, He had all the tags and they were able to look up the transaction but rather then replace the plants, as any nursery would, including Home Depot and Lowes they charged him 5 dollars a plant stating they were on sale when we bought them, Does that change the fact that they died? If I bought them anywhere else they replace at no cost; plus they are smaller plants Not impressed won’t be back

Wiegand’s has been there forever. It’s an institution. They have absolutely gorgeous stuff. .and not just flowers. Planters, birdhouses, even the tiny little things for fairy gardens.(what is with fairy gardens all of a sudden? Has there been an influx of fairies in Macomb county?) The store seems to go on forever with something new around every corner. .is that a fountain? I need that ceramic dragon! A bag of rocks? Yes please! Some of the items are pretty pricey but it was fun walking around and looking at everything.

I grew up near this place and wish I still lived there so I get all the good stuff!(Can’t fit it in the overhead compartment on an airplane, that’s for sure). When I’m back in the area to visit family, I always make a trip there. No matter the season, they always have interesting things to look at, great garden accessories, amazing holiday displays, luscious houseplants and orchids. But, the real gems are during the spring and summer seasons when the whole place is just overflowing with blooms of all sorts. HUGE variety of special perennials(many of which they propagate and pot themselves), gorgeous bedding houses full of flowering annuals, acres of trees and shrubs of all sizes and types, a water house full of pond equipment and various koi and fish to fill them, a bonzai and alpine tree section, and much more. Beyond that, they have free classes, garden clubs for kids, events like a pumpkin walk in the Fall, and more. The best part about it are the people. They know their stuff. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to just help answer questions, sample layouts for your space, and give helpful advice — whether you buy anything or not. It’s a family business, so you’ll see many folks who are family to the owners and each other. It shows. Good vibe, overall. If you’re seeking soil, mulch, compost, gravel, amendments, they have that stuff too either by the bag or loaded up by the yard in their wholesale area in the back. Wish I had a nursery like that anywhere near where I live now. Enjoy it!

The nursery stock in this place is superb in the season. Their selection of Christmas decorations and accessories is an absolute wonderland. Worth the drive from almost anywhere to spend an hour or two(and who knows how much money ?) The staff is friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to he;lp.
