Here is a wonderful example of grand architecture designed by Alfred Fellheimer, his other examples are NYC Grand Central, Buffalo Central Terminal and Utica’s Union Station. Many of the railroads which served the South stopped here and today that is all a distant memory. One unique feature of the bldg. is the incorporation of Jim Crow Laws, separate facilities for minorities.
