This Resturant is cute in a good location, the food is great… The Service and hospitality is absolutely horrible! Every staff member on the floor, with the exception of the woman who seats you, is rude, short, obnoxious and extremely extremely slow! I have never been here and it be extremely packed, there are always empty tables, and my guess is, that the waitstaff is awful. But like I said the food is good and that’s why we keep coming back.

Not overly impressed. They want top prices for the food when service is below average. The food looks fresh and tasty but it’s just ok. I can’t say this is the best I have ever had. There prices are just way to high. You also don’t get a ton of food, it’s not like rice is that $$$ to make

Absolutely hate this place and will never return. The sushi was disgusting, and the service was shit. Took 35 min just to get my check after I asked for it. I asked for some modifications on the check because there was a few things I didn’t order, and an old Asian guy named«Peter» told me «kiss my ass. You pay» in broken English. If this is how they treat customers, I don’t even want to know how they treat staff. Would never go back in here.

Friendly service, a good environment. It is on a little street, kind of hidden. The lunch specials are reasonably priced, starting at 7.50 got soup salad chicken rice and noodles.

My husband and I LOVE Ninja and wish it were more popular. The atmosphere is old-fashioned and lovely — the strains of Ella Fitzgerald are a pleasant accompaniment to a delicious meal. The entrees are very good, especially the teriyaki steak, and my sushi aficionado husband says that this is his favorite sushi restaurant in Macon. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because they stopped serving liquor, but they have sake and I recently discovered that they have the lesser known Korean soju, as well, which is well worth trying. This was our favorite affordable date night restaurant — intimate and romantic.

I’m actually concerned as to why people are so unhappy with this place. The wait wasn’t that long and the server took my order with the biggest smile. The restaurant itself was nice and cozy, giving off a comfortable vibe and the food was good for its price. Some people might have had the worst luck with ninja but personally, as a visitor to Georgia, I would come back again because it was a very good experience.

Had a craving and this hidden little place certainly delivered! Teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly, veggies wonderful, fried rice yummy, California roll was good, soup was not too salty and hot tea was just right. I’ll be in town for work on and off over the next month and will definitely return.

Well we were going to go to Tokyo alley but they were closed unfortunately. So, we thought we would try ninja because we had never been there before. Well, now I know why I never tried it and I now know why I will never be back. They only had one waitress, a bar that wasn’t fully stocked and no bartender. We tried to order a crown and Coke but sorry no crown. And on top of it all the waitress was having to be a bartender and serve food. The salad dressing on the house salad was bland no taste at all. The sushi was horrible. You could tell it wasn’t fresh. The quality just wasn’t there. Someone in our party got the fire oysters and they did not even look like an oyster. They were so small… like tiny! They didn’t look fresh either. My bet was they were frozen. No Japanese restaurant will beat Mikatas. Now they know what they are doing! Also the inside is just plain tacky. Cheap tvs hanging everywhere, they didn’t have any ambiance music playing either. It was just silent. They have a tacky looking projector hanging crooked over booths as well. Is it a restaurant or a conference room? Honestly I don’t know how they are still open.

Took my best friend here for her Birthday and we had to try the oyster sushi. Unfortunately we both had part of one piece that tasted off, well we both got very sick the next day. The other person in our party didn’t have the oyster, and he was fine…

The sushi was ok but the service was horrible. Stunningly HORRIBLE. We sat at the sushi bar. Saturday night, Feb 7th, our server was Jeff. Jeff came by and brought our beers, opened them and one promptly foamed up and spilled all over. He takes off, doesn’t bring a rag, doesn’t bring cold mugs. I see him passing by, flag him down, ask for a rag and cold mugs. He comes back and everything is ok for a while. We order sushi, then we get our sushi. We had no chopsticks, no napkins. We sit there, waiting, server is nowhere in sight. We ask the sushi chef if we can get chopsticks, he goes and gets them for us. Sushi was ok. The Salmon was good, the rest was just ok. I was in the mood for salmon skin roll, so we ordered that next and a couple more beers. When we were finished with the first plate of sushi, Jeff comes by and takes my husband’s chopsticks and wasabi dish, which was right in front of him. My husband says, «I’m not done with those,» but Jeff takes them anyhow, and does not return with new wasabi dish or chopsticks. Halfway through eating the salmon skin roll, Jeff comes by and asks if he can get us our ticket. I shit you not. We were NOT finished eating our food or drinking our beers and he’s asking if we want to leave. We were sharing a pair of chopsticks at that point, and we had never seen a napkin the entire meal, so I said, «Sure. Why not?» It was an awful experience. $ 50 meal and we are being ushered out. On top of that, they weren’t even that busy. When Jeff brings the check, I ask him if he noticed anything… he didn’t get it. We ate our entire meal without napkins. Jeff apologizes and the sushi chef overhears this conversation and goes out of his way to grab us some napkins, but at that point it just felt like too little, too late. Even after the mention of this unsatisfactory experience to Jeff, he makes no effort to get the manager to talk us out of leaving, maybe throwing us a comped ice cream… nothin. Just a «sorry that the service is terrible. Goodbye.» Never again.

I visited from New York City and i dont get why everyone is bashing this place. The sushi is pretty good and the owner is hospitable and kind. The sushi and fried rice is tasty. I would definitely come back before i leave Georgia

For the money I would rather go elsewhere. Small portions of the Teriyaki Chicken and it wasn’t that great!

I was craving sushi so I decided to go here for lunch despite the reviews about their terrible service. I ordered two sushi rolls I did not enjoy either one. I order one tuna roll and it was plain. The tuna tasted a bit fishy like it was not very fresh. I ordered the eel sushi I forget what it is called. It had eel and avocado in it. It had some weird smoky taking ribbon like stuff on top it was odd and did not improve the flavor at all. Then it had some sauce on top that was blah. So disappointed!!! The everyday specials were all deep fried sushi rolls. O_O what are you doing people??? No no no you are destroying the sushi roll. UUGGH so very disappointed I couldnt even finish my sushi which really annoyed me since it was so pricey.

I’ve given Ninja a chance on a couple of occasions. Every time, the service was slooooow and rather terrible, and the last time I went, the bartender was horrific — who screws up a vodka martini??? The food, however, is decent… so they earn back a star for that. I’ve had friends who have also tried, on several occasions, to give Ninja a second(third, fourth,…) chance. Same result.

I went here today on the recommendation of a Korean friend who raved about the place, and because Tokyo Alley(right across the street) was so crowded. Next time, I’ll just wait at Tokyo Alley. The service was lousy. I think the employees meant well, but they just didn’t know how to run a restaurant. Aside from the man who seemed to be preparing sushi, all the other employees on the floor were running around serving as both waitstaff and cashiers, and not doing a very good job of either. After waiting an excessive length of time for our orders to be taken, we were moved WHILEEATING to accommodate another party, then we ended up getting our food to go because there was no time left for our lunch hour. The food didn’t even redeem the experience(I had the hibachi chicken, which was tough and salty). There was one very apologetic server/cashier who said, as he was checking us out with our to-go boxes, that the kitchen had just gotten really behind. I can’t accept this as an excuse. There were two in my party, and we both ordered lunch special combos(she had hibachi shrimp), which should have been easily prepared. It was during regular lunch hours on a work day, the life blood of Macon’s downtown eateries. There were not that many people in the restaurant(you know, before the party of 8 that caused us to be moved arrived), and things just really weren’t that busy. If there was a delay in the kitchen, we could have been told that BEFORE asking for to-go containers and paying. I’m glad my friend has enjoyed her experience there. She can eat my food, as I won’t be going back.

Based on the previous 2 reviews, I *have* to think that we went on some sort of cosmically bad night. A group of 7 of us went to Ninja on a Saturday night in the lovely and exciting Macon… I expect to wait a little longer on a weekend, but this place made us wait: 1. 10 minutes for water 2. 30+ minutes for someone to take our order… and I had to go get someone, who gave me attitude b/c apparently it’s insane to want to order food at a restaurant. 3. 1+ hours until all our food came out. It basically arrived piecemeal, with mine coming last, so everyone had to watch me eat! Ninja’s food wasn’t bad. In fact, for Macon it was quite tasty. The salmon nigiri was fresh and generous. I also ordered a rice-free cucumber role with salmon, tuna, and crab inside. Again, fresh and interesting and tasty. Unfortunately, no matter how good the food is I cannot justify returning until I hear from multiple people that they have sorted out their grossly deficient staffing issue. There was one sushi chef on a saturday night! And one guy took our order then disappeared… turns out he was a chef just helping out. Then the«waiter» admitted he was new and didn’t know anything about the menu! Umm, staff training anyone? This was quite the rant, and I hope Ninja reads this. Get your restaurant on point and patrons with discriminating taste will come. Oh, and get yourself a drink menu and a few more waiters and sushi chefs!
