Adorable local grocer. Very convenient when staying in downtown Macon. It’s not as big or as well stocked as a big chain but I enjoy the experience of supporting local establishments. They had an «Alton Brown’s favorites» display up front and the store includes a frozen section, dry staples, home supplies, organic snacks. Upstairs is a coffee bar. I order Chai lattes wherever I go and almost never have a good one. This was one of the best I’ve ever had! I always ask for vanilla to be added and the sweetness mixed with the authentic, notable spiciness was awesome. I have to go back and ask how he made it. I also got a sour cream glazed donut, blueberry glazed, and an apple fritter that were all dangerously good. Across the street is the local pharmacy so you can avoid going to any chains for your vacation staples.

We went out downtown to see what this place offers and was impressed with the man running the grocery store and the items that were for sale. However we went upstairs for coffee and the service was horrible. Coffee was old and cold and the woman heated up a stale donut which made it worse and inedible. It looked dirty and there was more interest in the loaded shelves of beer and wine than good brew or eats. If that’s the best the coffee shop can offer I wouldn’t want to go back. Macon needs this place to work so that loft dwellers have stoes where they can get a newspaper, coffee and breakfast. I think people there are lazy and disinterested and don’t have a clue how to bring people in there.

Great location. Love the grab and go sandwich option. Quality of the sandwich was very good and the convenience can’t be beat. They also have an excellent craft beer selection. I will stop in for lunch next time I’m in town.
