Spud dogs have the best hot dogs in Macon! They have plenty of varieties and the food is always served hot. They also have loaded baked potatoes, salads, soup, baked beans, potato salad and mac n cheese. Cheeseburger and barbecue sliders are a plus. Great little place for great food!!!

Great Dogs, Spuds, and… Salads? You heard me right. I use to come down to Spud Dogs to get a Buffalo Roams when I was hungover. That was until I realized that Spud Dogs might have the best salad in Macon. Fresh blueberries and strawberries, chicken grilled to order, candied pecans made in house, AND a homemade raspberry vinaigrette. Did I mention the friendly staff and owner?

I’ll be sure to add the extra star the next time I visit. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. A brother/sister team. The chef/owner is very good company and is extremely personable. His sister, who is also the cashier is also very friendly. I was able to build my own hot dog and I loved that. So if what you’re seeing on the menu isn’t your cup of tea, feel free to customize it to your liking. They have an all beef quarter pound hot dog combo that comes with a side and a drink. Free refills if you dine in. That combo is 8.00÷9.00. I forget which one. But great price nonetheless. I got chips served with the owner’s very own French onion dip. I’ve never had French onion dip so delicious before. I took mine home. he also makes his own habanero sauce that goes on the spicy dog that it’s featured with(i’m getting that one the next time because I love spicy food). He talked about how he «perfects» his sauces(yes, I say perfects because by the taste, it’s obvious he knows what he is doing). I admit to being sour when I found out he doesn’t have French fries. I just can never imagine eating a hotdog without French fries and/or onion rings. However, the French onion dip more than makes up for it. He allowed me to sample the habanero sauce, gave me some to take home, and told me that I could also purchase some. He recommended that I use it at home as a sauce over baked fish. He was right, my fish dinner was sooooo delicious because of it. I broiled some salmon in a foil wrap in the oven with asparagus and pepper/onion blend with sliced lemons on top. Soon as it was done, I put his habanero sauce on it and my mouth exploded with happiness. I’m going back soon so I can add the last star. I’m also going back for more sauce.

Delicious food, friendly staff. Everything is made to order and definitely worth the wait. Don’t forget to add a spud to your order. We got the Barbie and it was perfect.
