Bear Swamp Beverage

I want to love this place because it is near to my home and it’s a cool place, BUT… I heard they where expensive and they are! I paid 26 dollars with tax for a case of miller light when Shangys has it for 22. I want to go here but common sense says no. Without a doubt the most expensive beer store around and its in a little town so it has no right to be. Lower your prices a bit and I will be a regular.

20 plus year patron, will never go back. HORRIBLE NASTY, customer service. Just got SCREAMED at by Brian during check out, when I wasn’t happy that my 5 yo daughter couldn’t use the bathroom. I typically do not ask if I can use a business’ restroom as I know their policy. However, my 5 yo was wiggling in her pants. ‘Brian’ said (930 at night), that I should take her around back to «piss». When I didn’t respond back he muttered «what’s wrong with that», «what’s wrong with that», «guess I offended you», «my daughter pees outside all the time», «that’s how we all grew up», «I can tell you’re mad». Embarrassing me in front of other customers. I finally replied that I wasn’t happy that my daughter couldn’t use the restroom. He leaned over the counter toward me and screamed at the top of his lungs «she can’t use it lady!» «read the door!» «I said its all the way upstairs!». I asked for his name which he screamed «Brian!» twice. I told ‘Brian’ to watch his tone of voice with me in front of my child, that I didn’t appreciate the way he was talking to me. He yelled and told me to «shut up», that I was just mad that we couldn’t use the bathroom. I plan on calling management first thing Monday morning. Let’s hope his name isn’t Brian. Been going to Bear Swamp for over 20 years, staff always great. I’m a nurse at LVH, staff and I always go to Bear Swamp after a long 12 hr shift. Never again. Hopefully the 2 gentleman standing behind me will complain as well. My child is very shaken up now.

I like this place. I work from 7pm to 7:30am, so if I want to grab a case of beer for the weekend after work, this is the place I go to. People are fairly friendly, and if you want a 3 foot long meat stick, you can get one of those, too. Nifty.

Typical Pennsylvania beer distributor. Open on Sundays. Cold beer costs $ 1 more per case than room temp beer.
