I said I would try the store again after my prior 1 star experience, where I characterized this is a 3 star store and maybe a 4 star star but with a 0 star clerk.
The clerk wouldn’t talk. Well, he said YEAH as the greeting and only comment while I was looking at the roller grill items. I selected a corn dog which was pretty good. But other than the YEAH dead silence. No «is there anything else» or even «thank you» where the script calls for it at the conclusion of the sale.
I ate the corn dog while looking at the newspaper rack and listened. It wasn’t just me. Complete silence with the next three customers.
Really a shame. I expected this to be an easy 3 star store and maybe 4 since it’s one of the few along Gulf Boulevard that has been remodeled in the century.
It has a nice roller grill setup, plenty of low cal salads and fruit cups, and the modern fountain drink setup where you can add lemon, cherry, or vanilla to any drink. The store is clean.
Well, I left one star on my first review due to the non talking clerk. Second try.
I got a different clerk. Who talked! Well, as much as he could considering he was trying to work through a line that was consistently 9 to 12 customers. Good guy.
So the question is what kind of owner schedules one person to work the afternoon alone in a medium size store across the street from a popular beach the Sunday of Labor Day weekend???
Despite the friendly and hard working clerk present on my second visit I am leaving this at one star.
