Great pizza on the beach. Reasonable prices. Crust is good and great sauce. We were here in January, so some of the issues I’ve read about here probably don’t apply as there was ample seating even when was busy at Johns Pass on a sunny Saturday.

I was not disappointed when we headed over to John’s Pass and ran into this pizza place. I always stop here when I am down that way to enjoy a slice and some garlic knots! The pizza is delicious and a good size for what you pay. The garlic knots are properly seasoned and affordable with a side of marinara on a plate. The seating is a bit limited with the traffic that comes on and out, but it is a good atmosphere next to the boardwalk with plenty of stores and ice cream shops outside of the restaurant. They serve bottled beer as well if you want to grab one on your way through the line to pay. i

It’s complicated. Is it a five star pizza or a one star catastrophe? I came here with my family of four. It was busy. There was a long line, and few tables. My wife grabbed a table while I stood in line, but they asked her to vacate the table, promising that they move people through quickly and would find us a table in time. That much worked — they did find us a table in time. Then a Caesar salad arrived. Ten minutes later a slice of pizza arrived. It looked a bit worn out, like they’d tried to revive something that should have long since been put to rest. Twenty minutes later a whole pie arrived. It looked FANTASTIC, thin, slightly crispy crust, hand tossed, good sauce, cheese, and toppings. Twenty minutes later, everything was eaten, and a calzone had still not arrived, in spite of us frequently asking. A second pizza also hadn’t arrived at an adjacent table, not ours. I went to the front to ask for my money back, and was told my calzone was just sitting there and I could have it. Meh, I said, I think I’ll just take my money back. They had to find a supervisor. He finally came and took my card. Suddenly, another guy walked up, asking if they could just give him a few slices of pepperoni, he’d dress his own pizza, because he’d been waiting so long for them to fix his order that his family was nearly done eating. The supervisor started walking away with my card. I yelled, and he returned, looking a bit pained. He stared at my card, sighed, opened the till, and offered me a $ 10 bill instead. I took it. I suppose the upshot is this — if you are here on a busy night, get an entire pie, and just that. You’ll love it. Anything else is likely to go wrong.

Ordered this while sitting at Mad Beach Brewing. What a great pairing. Ordered a large pizza with Pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms the crust was thin and crispy. The toppings were very good, too.

Reviews on this place are mixed, here’s why: it’s all about the kind of pizza you like. I like thinner, New York style pizza that doesn’t taste like store bought ingredients thrown together. If that’s what you’re into(the former), you’re gonna love this place. The crust tastes homemade and thin, hand tossed, and a little crispy. Just how I like it. The sauce, also tastes homemade, is just a little sweet, but not too much. Our pizza came out and just looked good. They take their time to make a perfect looking/tasting pizza. Not like chain garbage. The cheese is real, not plastic. I’ve come across a handful of pizza places in my lifetime that deserve 5 stars. This is one of them. Again, if you like this type of pizza. Don’t come expecting Chicago deep dish or papa John’s, it’s not that. My wife and I(not real big meal eaters) ordered a medium 14″, and there was only one slice left. We weren’t hungry anymore, but kept eating because it tasted so good. Dang…good pizza.

Thought for a quick snack Mrs. E and little E might like to get a slice of zaza from this place at johns pass. Being from Chicago area why dont we see how a New york slice of zaza can stack up to our own. When they gave us our slices I was shocked. Have you ever cooked a frozen pizza a little too long and it becomes a piece of cardboard,? That frozen cardboard is better than this garbage. What a joke! If you cant give one good slice how can you do a whole pizza. You know what, I’m here for seafood not pizza… never to return

The pizza here is ALWAYS amazing! Every time I come to Madeira Beach this place is a must eat. I don’t recommend buying buy the slice If you’re going to buy a few, you might as well just get a whole pizza, better price and bigger slices.

Wanted pizza and several recommended delosa’s and decided to try it. I got the ½ dozen garlic knots and 2 slices of pizza with pepperoni and mushroom. So not impressed. The garlic knots are basically dinner rolls with garlic on top. The bread was very hard compared to other garlic knots that were soft and fluffy. The pizza was bland at best. Added crushed red pepper to give it some taste. There is much better pizza in st Petersburg than this place.

I have two pictures. One of an actual New York style pizza and one of delosas pizza. You can’t claim to be a New York style pizza place when you can’t even get the crust right. «I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.»(Billy Madison)

Everything about this place is cheap… Except the prices. Save your money and eat somewhere else! The food all came out at separate times, meaning one person was done with their meal before the last people even got theirs. The chicken on the Cesar salad was cold and tasted like rubber, the garlic knots that everyone raves about where cold and stale. Please please don’t eat here… You will be sad you did.

When you walk in the door, the first thing you notice is a guy making pizza crust. This sets the bar pretty high, and if they had baked our pizza until the crust was done, it might have been good. Unfortunately, the center crust was doughy and cold… nasty. It’s tempting after a day at the beach to fall into the first place you see and grab a quick bite so you can go back to your hotel, shower and be ready for the sun first thing, but take my advice and spend your hard-earned vacation dollars somewhere else.

The knots are great, cheese lasagna was the best I’ve ever had, and pizza was ok. Not a bad value for a family of 5, this has been around for a long time and I can see why.

I had high hopes for this place. I love pizza. We ordered two slices of pizza-pepperoni and pepperoni with banana peppers. The place was a bit crazy/hectic upon arrival. We waited for a bit for the slices and after watching pizzas going by, I was optimistic that the pieces would be good. The ones that passed us seemed to be cooked just right, light golden crust, white gooey cheese… our pizza was an outright let down. It was twice baked, old, with nasty tough cheese, and had a frozen pizza taste. It’s bad when I pass on pizza, and this slice went to the trash. Maybe the pizzas made to order are exceptional, but I would never recommend ordering by the slice. You’ll be sorely disappointed.

This is more of what you would expect from a small Italian restaurant. The pizza crust was crispy, and the sauce was flavorful. The spaghetti was good and the red sauce tasty. Didn’t receive salad that was supposed to go with dinners but had enough to eat. The garlic knots weren’t very garlicky and not crispy enough but otherwise everything was good.

WOW, any frozen pizza at Publix tastes better than this. First took forever for a slice to go. It was burned and tasted like cardboard. Only reason there are so many people there is location, because it’s not for the pizza. Looking at the pizzas on tables, they didn’t look much better. Never coming back and would suggest going anywhere else. There are plenty of other restaurants less than 100 feet away.

Ordered the $ 23 family deal(large cheese pizza, family salad, dozen garlic knots) during Rose Bowl, but service was still pretty prompt. Light, airy crust, slightly sweet sauce and adequate amounts of cheese. The hot buttered garlic rolls are great, although the Caesar salad was limp and the dressing bit bland.

Garlic knots!!! Nuff said. Covered in butter and garlic. Browned. Comes with a side of dipping sauce. Great for an indulgence and snack. Mmmmmm… a must have every time in the area. This place is the typical pizza joint. Pizza here is good but nothing to write home about. It more NY style pizza. There is also a bar attached to this place. Great for a snack or if you just need a rest. …

If you are near John’s Pass and looking for good pizza, look no further. Delosas has great pizza and some of the best garlic knots I’ve ever had. It’s also a perfect option for lunch. Pizza is sold by the slice or by the pie.

LOVE. Delosa’s is pretty damn good. Small place in John’s Pass and a beacon for lovers of tangy sauce & spices, and fresh, amazing garlic knots. Home grown and pretty good service(bar or restuarant), I wish Delosa’s was closer to me, lord knows I might be there once per week at least. And I love me some pizza.
