Very nice beach with soft(but pumped in) sand. The water is usually clean, but occasionally, there is lots of seaweed. I knocked off a star because it has been getting very crowded here. On weekends, it is impossible to find a spot unless you’re there very early. On a Thursday afternoon, the beach was mobbed. This extreme crowding has forced us to go to Redington or the small beach access parks along the road. Either come here in off season, or deal with crowds on the beautiful beach.

There really is something about strolling knee-deep through the warm rolling surf of the Gulf Coast. The John’s Pass area may be covered in high rise condo-hotels, but the public beaches are stunningly lovely with their white shell sand and gentle curves. I happily spent an afternoon getting sun-stunned and sandy on this beautiful stretch of paradise. And the city of Madeira Beach has set up some clean, sturdy restroom facilities at one end, along with abundant(but not free) parking and — best of all — a foot-washing station for those overly sandy toes. Aahhhhhhhh…
