Food is good, but horrible, horrible, horrible service!!! You ask for anything and these people get mad!

Love, love, love this place. I would say it’s most definitely the best Asian food in town. I usually call my orders in to go, and when I pick up my noms, it’s still very hot. The lady behind the counter is also very nice. She’s actually quite humorous and cracks funny jokes while I wait. She’s also memorized my order, which is awesome since my orders are rather large. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for their Asian cuisine fix.

Fresh, hot, & tasty. Chicken Chowmein was good but oily. Egg rolls were good. We ordered Shrimp Chowmein, Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, & Teriyaki Vegetable Bowl… they were out of sushi rice so no California Roll… they make the sushi fresh to order.
Overall a good little place to eat. Very reasonable prices also.

This is the tiniest Chinese /​Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. They have no menus let alone take out menus. Their menu is posted on the wall with pictures and prices. It is unconventional but it works. There was 9 people in our party and total cost was $ 110.00. Everyone had their own plate plus we had an extra plate PLUS we tried 3 rolls: dragon roll, golden sun roll, and volcano roll. We absolutely loved the volcano roll. I thought the price were decent and food was not amazing but well above average. Remember this is not a high end restaurant, it’s family owned ‘hole in the wall.’ There was only one waitress/​hostess/​cashier. She was nice to us but I can see why others might think she’s rude; a bit of a culture shock. Probably first generation. Nevertheless, she was nice to everyone that walked in and efficient to the best of her ability. While we were there which was about an hour, hour and a half there was a steady stream of customers eating in and take out orders. The green beans and chicken was wonderful and so was the shrimp. Everything else was tasty and was flavorful but nothing else stood out. The portions were good. The only drinks they had were out of a beverage cooler. Would we return? Heck yeah!

The woman taking orders was very rud, when I asked some questions about the food. She seemed tired and bothered. She rudely called me «LADY», then said, «look…I have pictures. «. I guess asking questions is a bother. I asked her to please not be rude, as there was no reason to be. She childishly retorts, «LADY, lady». As I walked out, if the service wasn’t bad enough, I saw a roach on the floor. NICE.NOT.

This place is a nice hole in the wall. It’s not a fancy spot but it’s clean, the food was good, it was quick & I left satisfied & that’s all I really care about.
Came here for dinner. We were greeted right away. It wasn’t too busy. We ordered a volcano roll & chicken teriyaki for our main entrees. We got egg rolls, Gyoza, & crab meat with cheese wontons for our appetizers. It was a lot of food but we were hungry!
The items were priced fairly. The volcano roll was really good. It was fresh & crispy! The teriyaki chicken was simple but tasty. It was just streamed veggies and rice but I loved the simplicity of it all. The appetizers were fried and anything fried is good. Just kidding. Not really. I really liked the crab meat wontons. It has cream cheese. I’m lactose intolerant but I loved it and couldn’t resist eating it. The Gyoza and egg rolls were simple. The guy I’m dating really likes them. I like to eat them, but I wouldn’t mind not having them either. Haha! I have a complicated relationship with my food.
Anyway, the owner/​workers seemed nice enough. We also didn’t bring outside food or drinks and we didn’t share our drinks. They had a sign on our table saying «No outside food or drinks.» Guessing by the other reviews, they didn’t listen and it made the workers angry.
It’s common sense. If you’re going over someone’s house you follow their rules. If they want you to take your shoes off, you take those darn things off even if your pedicure is a nightmare! So don’t bring your outside food or drinks, stop sharing drinks, & don’t order things they don’t sell. I didn’t & I had an okay experience. This is a small fast food spot. Stop acting like you’re in a Michelin star restaurant.

After my last experience here I won’t be back. I came in and did a to go order, there was a party of 4 sitting and their food came out as I was waiting for mine… I noticed that one of the women sitting at the table became visibly squeamish and I saw her quietly approach the counter with her plate… there was a hair in it. She wasn’t aggressive or angry, simply asked if they could remake her dish. The lady at the counter got really agitated and accused her of «planting a hair» to get free food. The customer was visibly uncomfortable and embarrassed… it was just… wrong.
The experience soured me on the place and I won’t be back.

That place is so good! My favorite is the dragon roll. Wish it didn’t cost $ 12 but I’ll get it once in awhile.

I liked the food here and was coming for years until I witnessed the owner, I’m assuming, practically yell at clients. I am all about customer service and if I don’t receive it, then I won’t come back. They are very strict on not sharing drinks and if you do share, you are not allowed refills. What do they care if you share a drink or not? It’s ridiculous. If you’re ok with horrible service then by all means.

Not bad for the central valley… It will definitely give you your sushi fix and boxes are pretty good.

The food here is just disgusting. I am assuming anyone who gives this place more than 2 stars, either has lived in Madera their whole lives, or is someone who just does not know shit about Asian fast food. Hell, I don’t even know why I chose this place over Panda. Maybe it’s cause they have been open for several years and I always used to pass this place on my way to visit my family, so I figured it couldn’t be that bad! Yup, I was wrong.
First, despite them advertising it… there were no Sushi, or Boba drinks available during my visit. Supposedly, their sushi chef, «Pablo» was not available to make any. I can’t stand it when restaurants advertise certain items, but don’t even have it.
Secondly, my food (Teriyaki beef over rice) was brought out in literally like 2 minutes from when I ordered it. I’m pretty sure the meat was just reheated. There is no way it should have been ready that fast. I think the only thing they actually fried fresh, were their crab rangoons, which was the only good part of the meal.
Lastly, the Teriyaki beef tasted way too salty for some reason. The beef had that real mushy texture to it, like it came from a can or some shit. I didn’t even eat the noodles that came with it, because it looked old and dry.
Overall, if you are ever in this town– don’t try to be adventurous and try this piece of shit place just because it’s a hole in the wall. You’re much better off going down a few blocks to Panda Express for Asian fast food.

I normally come here and food and service are great. The place is tiny, but it’s usually not too packed and the food made it worth it.
Unfortunately, my last visit to this place REALLY changed my mind, and although I was a Teriyaki House regular for the past few years, I now refuse to set foot in this place.
My last visit was about two months ago. I walked in, the two open tables were super filthy, no one was up front to help my boyfriend and I, so we waited for a good twenty minutes. RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REGISTER. We were literally trying to yell for someone in the back to come help us. I shouldn’t have to wait twenty minutes to get my order TAKEN. God knows when someone would have finally walked out to help us. My boyfriend and I walked out and definitely aren’t coming back. No one helped us while we sat there for twenty minutes. I’ll drive to Fresno for better Japanese food with better service.

I’ve only been here twice and I’m the Duke. I came here with my wife while I got my car serviced at the dealer next door. We sat and looked at the menu, I couldn’t see anything that was tasty on the menu, as I gave in to whatever looked ok based on the pictures I got up to order and the lady says «sorry, no outside drinks allowed» my wife was drinking a small coffee! I said «really? It’s coffee and she’s not going to eat, we’re just going to leave!» She said «ok». Glad I didn’t eat the crappy food anyways! I went to Carls JR.

Great food!!! Good service! Plenty of food for a reasonable price… the Snake roll is delicious …

Their chicken chow mein is pretty good. I judged a place by their chow mein. If it’s good, I’ll come back

DON’T go close to 2:00 when they close for afternoon break! we came in at 1:40 and they clearly didn’t want to help us… Wouldn’t make a roll we asked about, and you will laugh at wasabi portions they give you!!! Tried calling in order, but she said they quit answering phones at 1:30! Lacking customer service!
NEED GOOD SUSHI RESTURANT IN MADERA!!!

When you walk into this little place you say to yourself no. In a mini mall in Madera, but you MUST order the food. They have a lunch special with miso soup, salad, tempura veggies, meat, rice and california roll for 8.95! Oh and you get a drink too! The food is great. Tons of food! You must try this place! Im from Los Angeles. I have had sushi and Japanese food from all over Cali and this place is just great!
