Love this place. The owners are very friendly and the food is good. There is enough for two when you order a dinner. I like General So Chicken and the Chichen and Broccoli

I got the chicken and broccoli meal with fried rice. Everything was just soaking in oil, and it was very bland. The rice tasted old and over salted with soysauce. It also sucks that they don’t accept credit cards, so the extra trip to the ATM was a waste.

I wish I could be as enthusiastic as the other Unilocalers about The Wokery, but I just don’t think the food is at the same level with other Chinese restaurants in the area. The best dishes I have tried there are the subgum chop suey dishes. I like spicy food, so I always ask them to make everything spicy, and they do, which is nice. I am particularly critical of the Szechuan dishes. Maybe I’m a Szechuan«snob,» but I find the Szechuan dishes at The Wokery to be not as flavorful as others. Plus I think the veggies are often too soft and not as fresh tasting. The prices are in line with most Asian joints, and they seem to be a husband/wife team who are very nice to the customers. They don’t accept credit/debit cards, which might be a little annoying to some people but I pay cash most of the time anyway. I live in a corridor where there is Young’s(Royal Oak), Golden City(Madison Heights), Peking House(Royal Oak) and Panda Express(Oakland Mall), so competition is stiff for my Chinese food dollar. The Wokery, though, is by far the closest to my house(I could walk there in less than 10 minutes), so I do go there from time to time, especially when time is a factor.

I’m a big fan of this very tasty Chinese food place. I call it a place… because its not a restaurant. In fact, if you want to eat there, you’re going to be turned away. They managed to cram a hole of wonderful Chinese food into a strip mall. No chairs for you, and no credit cards either for that matter. One of my favorite things is when you call up to place your order. One word questions, broken engrish, and they know exactly what you mean when you try to explain it all. One tidbit just in case you forget, they do not accept credit cards or checks… cash only.

I love this place. the owners are always friendly, and they are super quick, prices are great and one dinner is plenty for two people. I favor the almond chicken, but am not a huge fan of their fried rice, other than that everything i have tried has been yummy!

I don’t really know much about this place, but my hubby says their General Tso’s chicken is pretty good. As for me, being no fan of Chinese food, I will say the eggrolls are pretty good, but that’s all i’ll get. He got shrimp fried rice one time and even though the shrimps are on the smaller side, the poopchutes were huge and i’m sorry people, I just fucking CAN’T do those poopchutes, I don’t care how fucking small they are. Cash only. /Ehhh

Disgusting food, Mongolian beef was watery. Sweet and sour chicken didn’t even have sauce on it! The crab rangoons were horrible. They also only take cash and didn’t tell us that when we called for carryout. Oe star for blahness

Wokery is consistently good carryout Chinese food. The orange chicken is exceptional and everything is really good. Whenever I call up and hear«Wokery, may I help you» I know I’m going to get something I like.
