Really good«normal» food! Outstanding french fries, chicken salad, BBQ, meatloaf, omeletes, homemade hamburgers, stew beef,…could go on and list everything on the menu. Friendly servers who remember what you liked previously. Inexpensive and very comfy.

Typical southern diner grub, they charge extra for the«homemade» burger rather than a frozen patty. While the food was good, the staff was just humdrum, and seemed to do the bare minimum, as if they were stuck in a perpetual hell. A red hotdog, a hand patted burger and a sweet tea was nearly an Alexander Hamilton, which is twice what most meals run you in Rockingham County. Might I add the seem to have served Coke for years as all of the outside menus are vintage Coke signs but now they only have Pepsi.

There actually was an airport here until the early 1980’s. People would fly in for sandwiches and others would drive into the curb service area(still active) to eat and watch the airplanes. Good hotdogs, decent burgers, awesome French fries, and hands down BEST milkshakes around! Cute high school waitresses work under the watchful eye of the owner/cook who has chopped enough barbque to wear out their old butcher block table.

Absolute gem of a diner/drive in. This nice little place is a little shabby on the outside, giving it some road food character, but it is bright and clean inside, and the service is always friendly and efficient. The breakfast here is outstanding, with nice portions. The sausage biscuits are just simply great, and if you ask for soft scrambled eggs, you get soft scrambled eggs. The biscuits, with or without the gravy, are excellent. The sandwiches are also really good, especially the Chuckwagon Steak, any burger, anf their chili dog is special. It and the bun are both grilled, so it will take a little more time to get your dog here than at some places. The result is worth it — the wiener is of the Southern red variety, bun nice and soft, and the chili is excellent, once you add a little salt. I really love this little place, just wish it were in Greensboro.

Down home Southern cooking. No frills, but plenty of flavor. The food is tasty, the portions are hefty, and the price is right. I recommend the flounder plate or bar-b-que with hushpuppies.
