Great customer service I thought I was going to be given a hard time about some mouth guards which I did not like for my kids but they handled my problem and gave me what I was looking for. I will continue to make the trip there for skate sharpening and use Alfred’s as often as I can for my sporting goods needs and services.

Stopped into Alfred’s to buy my Dad a golf polo for his birthday. While the selection is limited, the owner was very friendly and helpful. For sports basic, this is a nice neighborhood spot with personalized customer service.

Very disappointed with this well-established, non-chain sports store. My mom bought her grandson a gift card 3 ½ years ago. Now, that may seem like a long time, but, in these days of proliferating gift cards, it’s really not. Also, there was no expiration date displayed anywhere on the card. Anyway, the card has been in my wallet all this time, with the purchase receipt. We went today to make a purchase(our first time at the store) and the manager peels the card from the envelope saying, «This is a really old card» and proceeds to check the balance. He tells me there’s no balance left on the card. I told him we’ve never used it; he just peeled it off the envelope himself. He refuses to honor the card($ 25.00). He insists that somebody, not necessarily me, used the card already because the automated balance system says the balance is zero. He ended up giving us 10% off of a $ 60.00 baseball bat. Better than nothing but not a satisfying experience. I do not recommend this store.
