These people are awesome!. super down to earth, easy to talk to and extremely helpful and reliable. I have rented from them for years and any time I have needed maintenance to come fix something i put in a request and they are usually there within the hour pending how many other calls they get, but seriously i have never had a problem. If you are a reliable tenant they will go out of their way to find you whatever fits your needs and your budget… several times I have had serious demands(i cant help it i’m picky) for places i was looking to live in and they have spent the time to find me something that suited my needs. I had left madison for several years and they were the first people i called when i knew i was moving back and they immediately found me a few options for housing even in March when it’s hard to find anything. The only thing to keep in mind is that several of these places are 100 plus years old… so if you see something needs to be replaced just let them know and they will get at it asap. They have great locations, and also have houses with only a few units(which is what i personally prefer) and their prices are very reasonable for those locations. I have taken care of my places and always gotten my security deposit back from them. they will do what it takes to make it work for you. cant say enough how on countless occasions they have made my apartment searching less stressful and i have loved every apartment i’ve had with them. all i can tell you is… check em out.

Once again this business deserves no stars. Since then several awful things have happened with this company. After the heating problem my heat was disconnected for a weekend, kitchen torn out without my permission or reduction in rent and intimidation tactics from this rental company all over heating disputes in March/April months. I had people constantly in and out of my studio nothing was getting done with the heat and there was no plan as to what they were doing with my kitchen. Sorry I refuse to pay 300/mo for heat on top of rent and have it be 53 degrees and be treated like a second class citizen. I had emailed the owners for permission to sublet and they decided they simply would not respond to me. I ended up getting a lawyer and was glad just to get permission to get someone to sublet my place out which thankfully I was able to find someone to sublet. This is just a glimpse of the treatment I’ve received from this company and I am certainly not the first.

So far so good. We haven’t been in our apartment very long but every maintenance concern that we’ve had has been addressed promptly. For example, our shower kept setting off the smoke alarm and when I called about it, the maintenance person was here first thing the next morning to disconnect the smoke alarm and get another one put in. Some other notable things: — No pet fees(deposit OR monthly) — Clean, well-kept laundry facilities in the(finished) basement — Water and heat included in rent(never had this before, either) However, we were charged $ 110 for asking to be let into our apartment after being locked out on a Sunday. I know this falls under«after hours» and this info is in our lease but I was still surprised by the amount. Some advice to management: maybe remind tenants how much the after hours lockout fee is before you come over. It’s a little thing but the reminder is always nice(even though i’m sure I won’t forget now). Also, our apartment is pretty reasonable for being in the Willy St. neighborhood and near the lake. Will update review as needed.

We just moved into an Apex apartment this fall, and we are happy so far. The property has been well maintained, and the price seems reasonable compared to similar properties in the neighborhood. The company has been easy to work with, and they have been awesome about responding to our maintenance requests. Seriously. Our toilet was malfunctioning, so after attempting to fix it once, they brought us a new one. We didn’t like the armoire the space came with in the entryway, so they sent a team over to remove it the next day. It’s just been so easy to deal with them!

I don’t know anybody who has had a positive experience dealing with Nicole(their property manager) or anyone else at Apex. Laundry machines never worked, they tried to bill me for a broken window that wasn’t a part of my apartment– even though I was out of the country when it happened… They are horrible at filling in tax documents and never return voicemails.
