BB Clarke park has a sandy beach, raft with a diving board, and lifeguards (during the summer). The water is clean so it’s a nice swimming beach. There’s a small building with toilets, changing rooms, and showers. There’s a small launch area for kayaks and canoes on one side of the building away from the beach. No dogs allowed in park area, I have heard of people getting ticketed. In addition to the small sandy area there’s also grassy areas for picnicking. It has a playground for kids and a couple picnic tables. It can get busy on hot days, especially on the weekends. It doesn’t get overly loud or rowdy, lots of people will come to read or layout on nice days. It’s close to downtown, even walking distance to the capital. The lifeguards do a nice job of keeping the beach clean in the summer. The park offers great views of lake Monona!
