This place is completely and totally awesome. I came here to burn some time and wanted to buy everything in the store. I love chocolate filled croissants, and had to try one. The ones here are most definitely the best I’ve ever had. I also got a chocolate chip cookie which was soft and gooey and phenomenal. I would definitely go back to try other desserts.

I come here too often for the mini bundt and butter cakes and coffee. The savory croissants are also very good, but extremely rich.

I Love Batch Bake House! The Service is nice and Helpful! The Pastry/breads are so good! My favorites are the Baguette bread so fresh! For pastries I love the Monkey Bread and the mini cherry Pie so good !

What an amazing local bakery to stop in to. Satisfy your sweet tooth, or get some tasty crusty bread to go with dinner. Their Gruyère croissant is to DIEFOR! So buttery, flaky, and ahhhmazing. What is even better is they have partnered with Square Harvest, and I get this yummy goodness delivered straight to my door! What could be better than that?! Well… their salted caramel brownies, enough said. Every Christmas I always order their homemade Stollen which is a lovely delight to have. This year I also ordered their Bush de Noël(sp?) ohhh mmyyyy goossshhh. It was the most rich and heavenly thing out there. Ok, I’ve got to stop. I’m getting hungry. I love this place!!!

Mm mm, smells good, looks good, tastes good. Hit the trifecta. The glass cases are filled with gems. Fresh crusty breads with my favorite being their epi, a French bread that looks like a branch. It is beautiful gift when you are invited to dinner at friend’s house. Their sweets are divine. Little sandwich cookies that are just plain beautiful and slices of apple cake. Their chocolate chip cookies are excellent. Scones and brownies call your name and you pace wanting to pick just the right thing. They make lovely cakes that are gorgeous and perfect for a sophisticated celebration. I hope to see you staring at the cases soon. You won’t be sorry.

Best bakery ever! Huge selection of baked goodies!!! The ham and cheese croissant is unbelievably delicious! We also tried triple chocolate cookie and blueberry scone. Both are amazing!

This place never disappoints me! They have the most wonderful croissants-so crusty on the surface and so soft in the inside. No master which flavor you pick, you never go wrong with it. The sweets are also very good. The shortbread cookies are sweet and special. I also like the dark chocolate cake with espresso syrup. It’s super moisture inside, and the texture is so soft. Almost feels like drinking chocolate down your throat. Amazing! Really hope I can try everything they have, but seems like there are too many choices :)

An excellent bakery — my usual order is a croissant and a monkey bread(try it). Great employees and always well stocked

I get bakery from batch once or twice a week. It’s not the best I have ever had but it’s good enough. Some of the sweets in particular are a bit bland. The only real flaw though Is the drinks, tea and coffee are both terrible so I end up having to stop somewhere else when out for breakfast. This might be intentional to not compete with the cafes they sell too, not sure.

I had the Unilocal Review of the Day when I wrote about my romantic feelings and Batch. It was great because it was so terrible, but terribly true. When I realized that relationships established by Batch bread were not as hunky dory as I thought, I updated my review to inform my loyal readership. Unilocal was not amused. I thought they removed my review because bringing baguettes to bed was too risqué for the internet, but then I realized all they wanted me to do was write more. Donc, nous allons écrire plus de déchets. Have you ever wanted to be French? Like beret wearing, cigarette smoking, absinthe drinking, Royale With Cheese eating French French? Well, Batch doesn’t let you do any of that. I swear, they will slap a beret off your head and smile. But waking up with the sun and buying a hot baguette? Yes. You can do that. And you can’t do that anywhere else that matters. You can get croissants and cookies and monkey bread(these could be described as The Heat), but the baguettes are special. They aren’t sweet or adulterated in any way like the ham and gruyère croissants(which are also delicious). The baguettes come unbiased. They are beautiful. They are pure. Also, boo let me bring the baguette to bed when I also brought some cheese. So, like, all is good and shit.

Oh dear Batch. It’s such a good thing you are on the complete opposite side of town from me. Otherwise I would be one enormous unhealthy person. Everything here is ridiculously delicious. And I agree with the other reviewers-the various croissants are the closest thing I’ve come to outside of Paris(and I’ve tried my fair share across the USA!). Their latest creation, the cini-mini is absurdly good and I’m not even much of a cinnamon sugar treat fan. The Gruyère croissant is easily one of the best things I’ve ever eaten and while Batch may be far from the far west side, this delectable treat is available at the West Towne Metcalfe’s(weekends only and you better go early!) as well as Willy Street West. Yummmmm. The olive fougasse(sp?) is also super delicious. But why bother saying that cuz everything here is super delicious. There is always a wide variety of sweet and savory, various fruit flavors(oh the mini sunny lemon, oh yes! The mini sunny lemon) as well as chocolate and non-chocolate delights. All this plus bread, filled rolls, great coffee and a small refrigerated case near the register with mini-key lime pies and the prettiest little cookie sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Oh yeah, and the people who work there are extremely patient as I stare and drool and try to decide what not to purchase this time. That’s right, what NOT to buy. Cuz if left up to me and no one was looking, I’d eat one(or two) of everything in the case. And that’s saying something cuz the selection is huge(as long as you go before 10ish on the weekends!). Just do yourself a favor and go.

Did I die? Is this what heaven is like? Batch is the bakehouse of my dreams. It’s perfection from top to bottom. Batch’s interior is incredibly inviting with its ample natural lighting and the soothing robin’s egg blue on the walls. The display case is expertly arranged, and the staff was very understanding of my need to just take it all in before narrowing it down to a reasonable order of one item instead of one of everything. Eventually my eyes zeroed in on the dark chocolate honey almond tart and I knew that this item and I were meant to be together. The dark chocolate honey almond tart is literally one of the best baked goods I’ve ever tasted, and I make a point to taste many. The tart shell was firm and didn’t crumble when cut into with a fork. The chocolate flavor was present without being overwhelming or bitter. The filling comprised crunchy sliced almonds bathed in golden honey that added just the right amount of sweetness without being a sticky mess. The tart was topped off with a lattice of chocolate sauce to get it an extra chocolatey note. This tart is something to take your time with and enjoy every bite. I can’t wait to go back and try another of their amazing creations.

Excellent pastries. Some of the best croissants and pain au chocolat we’ve had since France. Other pastries are also delicious! Note they are closed on Mondays.

I found out about Batch Bakehouse after buying a loaf of their bread at Whole Foods in Madison. The bread was perfect so I sought out the bakery the next day. I got some fresh squeezed orange juice that hit the spot. I had it with one of their plain croissants. The croissant did not impress me and I wouldn’t get it again. However, I later ate one of their white chocolate scones. The scone was perfect and I wish I had bought more than one. I would be a regular buyer of their bread if I could get a hold of it back in Virginia!

I have heard raving reviews about Batch. On my boss’ wedding, his family literally catered the entire Batch Bakehouse collection for the guests, ranging from muffins to brownies to pound cakes to cookies and everything else you can imagine. So needless to say I had the opportunity to try out the shop in a week with all the leftovers he brought in for work. Super cool!!! And then after that I can’t stop and found myself going back on a regular basis to get their pastries and cakes. I like their system of calling in to ask if they have your favorite item on your craving list. And they will happily reserve items for you until you stop in to get them later in the day. Because I love their lemon pound cakes to much I will call in before stopping by, especially since I live in the west and stopping by would mean making a pretty long drive way out east. But I have no qualms about it. As I find myself handsomely rewarded with my cravings. Batch staff are really polite and didn’t pester us when we take forever to make up our minds what we wanted. Because to be honest I would want everything if I could. Which is why it always took me so long to decide whether I want to go for something new or to stick with my usual favs. They also bake fresh from scratch daily so everything is fresh out of the oven! *yum yum*

I’m anxious to try more from Batch. I have a feeling my rating will be 5 stars once I do. Their stuffed brioche rolls are quite good if you’re into savory things. They also make the best apple cake in the world, which you can purchase at the Willy Streep Co-op(West, not sure if they have them at the East location). If anything, you must try that. Excited to try more.

I’ve only been to Batch a couple of times, but everything I’ve ever gotten has been fan.tas.tic. I just finished their ham and Gruyère croissant, which is rich, savory, buttery… everything it’s supposed to be. The lemon baby cake has this wonderful sugar glaze on it, and the cake itself is moist and citrus-y. Their strawberry cupcakes have this frosting that tastes like fresh berries… Even their coffee is pretty dang good! Stop reading. Just go. Now.

Bless Batch. Their baguettes are the best in town(with options for baguette and demi baguette depending on how hungry you are). Everything from cookies to croissants are absolutely delicious and high quality. I gravitate mostly towards the sweets but the savory items like the quiche are and croissants are a good size for having one savory item and one sweet. The savory pastries, such as chorizo&cheese bread and gruyère croissants, are a little messy, but honestly, such is the nature of anything with these types of cheeses. Single serve monkey bread is an awesome idea – sometimes you just don’t want to break out the Bundt pan but here they are in single servings. Seating is mostly on stools facing the window and you can also purchase coffee or bottled beverages. Batch is my #1 recommended bakery in town for nearly anything!

I am putting this out there: I feel like I am totally out of place by only rating them a 4⁄5. This could be because I have only tried two things… so far. I walk in to expect a super overwhelming, packed store. It was not. Point for Batch. I did not expect the amount of variety in absolutely everything. I read the reviews so I thought I was prepared. Man. I had to walk by about 5 times to officially decide and determine my order. I finally decided on the apple pie($ 3.75) and the caramelized onion focaccia($ 4?). I ate the pie in my car… I could not wait to take it home. The pie was full of cinnamon, a denser crust and lots of apples. It tasted ok. It tasted like a pie. I think I was so hyped that I expected the pie beyond pies. I am glad to know another place where I can get pie but it also makes it very tempting to try and perfect my own apple pie and save almost $ 4.00. Again, do not get me wrong, it is a good pie but was not OMG good. The focaccia was good. That one did make it home and the sig. other actually enjoyed it and he is picky. I like onions. I think a cheese on top would have made it Super Duper focaccia but at that point does that still mean it is focaccia or closer to a sandwich? Either way, it was good. I will for sure be going back to try the endless supply of goodies. I am still in search of my OMG pie but this pie would do for a good eat.

Bakery heaven. After hearing so many raving reviews about this place I decided on a Sunday afternoon that I had to make the trek to Willy St. to try it out. And whoa, yeah it’s that good. I only tried the Ham and Gruyère Croissant and the Cranberry Walnut Scone with Orange Glaze but holy crap. There was so much filling in that croissant! Probably the biggest and most tasty one I’ve ever had. The ham was so yummy(saw it was from Jordandal — yay!). The perfect amount of ham and cheese made for a delicious snack. I ate the scone the next morning for breakfast and it was still moist and delicious. I may just have to make this a new weekend routine.
