Solid lunch spot. Good lunch specials. I stopped in around 11:30 and I was the only person in the room. Immediate service. Friendly staff. Quick in and out.

One of the best restaurants in the area, easily better than surrounding sushi spots. The wait staff is always friendly and their service is very good. I highly recommend!

While I’m not an adventurous sushi eater, I found lots of other tasty options. The spicy mango, chicken, vegetable dish was outstanding. Portions were generous and the staff was very accommodating. My wife gave her approval on the various sushi rolls she ordered. The rolled beef with scallion appetizer was terrific. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t so loud inside, although that was attributed to a huge party of women enjoying the evening and not using their«inside voices». To cap it off they give you a complimentary orange with whipped cream that is well presented… Nice touch!

I rarely give places 5 stars, but Blue Wazabi definitely earned it. To start, I had the Chicken Lemongrass Soup and the Roasted Cauliflower. Both were incredible. But the sushi. OMG! Definitely the best in the area. It was very fresh! It’s a small establishment. Hopefully we a continued booming business, they will be able to relocate somewhere a little bigger! Oh and it’s BYOB! I wish I had known that before stopping in, but no biggie!

Went in on a slow weekday evening. There were maybe 3 other tables occupied but we did not see a waiter for 20 minutes. Drinks took another 15 minutes. Then it took another hour to get the entrée. I mean, come on! It’s sushi! Waiters were very rude and would walk right past our table, ignoring my calls. Overall terrible service. However, the food was reasonable for the price. Definitely recommend the crunchy spicy tuna roll and the Philadelphia roll if you’re here. Miso soup was gross. Way too brothy and not enough salt. Honestly don’t bother — there are many sushi and hibachi places nearby with much better service and similar standards of food quality.

Great great great!!! The sushi at Blue Wazabi is fantastic! I have tried several sushi restaurants in the Morris/Essex/Passaic counties and Blue Wazabi is hard to beat! The sushi is consistently fresh and the menu is very diverse. Favorite sushi!

Great japanese food, but love the fact that there is also options for curries and ramen — I love that! I have to still try to ramen, but the sushi is definitely really fresh and good! My go to spot for good sushi in this area.

Pay attention: this is the best restaurant in Morris County. It’s all about how delicious the food is and how incredibly awesome the people and the service are. Very nice place to eat, take out, or order delivery from. Can’t go wrong. Sitting at the bar is the best experience you could have there, if you and your date are that cool. ;)

After tagged this place for a year, we finally got a chance to visit. It is hard to find a parking spot right outside, and it is better to park one block north(one hour or free after 7pm). It is also to make a reservation, as there are only 11 tables(8 inside and 3 outside) and a fee bar seats. There became a full house a few minutes after we sat. I can tell that staffs were overwhelmed, for 1. Forget to asking for drinks before food order, and 2. Forgot one of our appetizer before the entrée. One gentleman was super busy while other girl seems to be over relax. We really appreciate that the three chefs behind the counter worked their best to feed all 20 people at the same time(too bad that almost all of us walked in together). The sushi is delicious. The dots hell crab had too many coating and over fried. I could not taste any crab flavor. Our uni is a little overpriced, $ 7, for one piece. But I like the quality, creamy and sweet. The soy sauce is well balanced with a little sweet in it as well. My wife had a spicy jalapeño roll, telling that his place is modern contemporary sushi. It has lobster at the bottom and spicy tuna over the roll, topping with a thin slice of jalapeño and caviar. Surprisingly, the spicy is well balanced, without overwhelming the fish.

I didnt get the full experience of dining in here just yet but I ordered two rolls to go and they were absolutely DELICIOUS and I am a HUGE sushi lover! I ordered the bonsai roll and the luck of the irish roll and finished them so quickly I wish I got more! Will be coming back here again soon!

My sushi was amazing. I wish I did bring my own bottle of wine just to enjoy my food even more. I ordered the deep blue sea roll. If you love tuna then you will love this roll. So fresh As an app I ordered the shrimp shumai. If you’re in the are this place is a definite go to!

I dined here based on the overall rating so I felt compelled to add my perspective. This place in no way deserves 4.5÷5 stars. At best it merits 3.5 stars. Very cramped seating, slow and extremely inattentive staff, sushi is average and nothing special. Had spicy scallop hand roll that was good quality but not spicy at all and on the bland side. Forgot what roll I ordered but it was heavily sauced to the point I could hardly taste the fish. On the pricey side considering the portion size in my opinion. PS… BYOB??? Fail.

Pretty good sushi but we were slightly underwhelmed after reading all the positive reviews as we were expecting something amazing. What we got was some sushi rolls that we loved and some that we just didn’t care for. Maybe we just need to learn what to order next time. We started with the the seaweed salad, which came with mango in a pretty cool presentation [see photo]. For sushi rolls, we got the Cupid Roll, Ebi Supreme, Lobster Tempura Roll and Spicy Shrimp Mango Roll. We really liked the Cupid and Lobster Tempura roll but did not care for the Ebi Supreme and Spicy Shrimp Mango Roll. The Ebi Supreme was just too heavy and had these little pieces of shrimp on top that was too sweet. The spicy shrimp mango roll was not spicy. We got ice cream for dessert and it was decent. The service was fine but the food was a mixed experience. I will give it another try in the future.

Really delicious food, wide variety of choices. Interesting menu– byob. We started with tuna tartare pizza and pork gyoza. Then had a Bronx Bomber roll. Exceptional!

This is my go-to place when I want sushi for lunch. They have a special of three rolls for $ 12.95 that includes miso soup and a small salad with ginger dressing. I usually get the salmon and avocado roll, the yellowtail and scallion one and the eel and avocado. Hey, I can never get enough avocado, especially when it is as creamy and ripe as this place’s. The soup is ok and the salad is nothing to write home about, but the rolls are quite good. I always take out, but the space looks perfectly acceptable to eat in. Service is friendly, too. By all means, try it!

4 stars because as far as asian fusion goes, this is as refined as you get for the mid-range price point. My family and I are guilty of going to asian fusion restaurants and then complaining that the food doesn’t really taste like any type of cuisine one way or the other. Occupational hazard of being asian. That being said, the chefs did a great job and we were quite happy with the meal– which is saying a lot(see above– we were basically regretting doing fusion as soon as we sat down. Difficult people.) The mushroom salad was fantastic and highly recommended. Sushi rolls were fresh and well prepared. Seaweed salad with mango is beautifully presented but tastes premade and is disappointing. Agedashi tofu fine, greasy but good sauce. Miso ramen I found quite good!

Me like. Service and food are phenomenal, this one’s better than the restauarants in neighboring Morristown. Cant comment on the sushi but the miso ramen + yaki udon(with kimchi) were both superb. We didnt pay too much attention to the menu and thought that each dish came with salad and miso soup but it’s only one or the other. The salad was fresh and the ginger dressing quite good. Our waiter happily brought us a bowl miso when he realized we thought it included both– excellent customer service(even though it was our fault!). Lunch specials are served on Saturday too(yay).

Underwhelmed :(we were the first ones to stop here for lunch. Place is nice but a little small. Husband and I decided to do lunch specials. His order-red curry chicken with brown rice and mine was the maki deluxe lunch special which came with the choice of 3 rolls from a small list. I chose salmon avocado, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail. The meals came with a small salad and a bowl of miso soup. The miso soup was blah, please don’t get me wrong. Miso soup despite the simplicity in preparing can be flavorful if done right. This was just mediocre. The salad and soup arrived promptly after placing our orders, but the lunch itself took a good 25 minutes. The portion sizes were pretty generous as you can see from the picture, but that’s where the good part ends. The sauce was alright but the chicken and vegetables in the curry were totally bland. There was a total lack of salt. We then asked for some salt from the waitress and she looked surprised that we wanted salt. It was as if they added boiled chicken and vegetables into the red curry sauce and served it in a pretty serving platter. My sushi roils were nothing great either. Should have ordered the speciality rolls instead of the rolls on the lunch special menu :( Overall the food experience was poor and I don’t think there will be a repeat visit from us to this place.

Since my class was canceled, I had a craving for sushi, so it was time to Unilocal a spot that I have not been to in the area. I found Blue Wazabi. The place is intimate, small, and at 7:30 my best friend and I were seated right away.(BYOB). We were greeted by our friendly waiter who was happy to answer our questions regarding the combos. Time to order! The green ice was on the sweeter side-which I liked. You must try the mango salad. It was delicious and a lot bigger than my friend expected. The sushi was fresh and on point-I had the spicy shrimp roll/salmon avocado with lots of spicy mayo and my eel sauce. The single rolls were averaged around $ 6. They had specials for $ 15. I will definetly be back for more sushi when I have one of my cravings!
