Went to Bluephies during Sunday brunch. There was a minuscule wait for two, so we got our drinks at the bar and quickly got sat in the dining room. They have a morning happy hour from 8 am– 10 am that I’m hoping to one day take part in($ 3 mimosas, $ 4 house bloodies, $ 5 signature bloodies). I tried the mimosa with blood orange sorbet and that was a surprisingly delicious start to my brunch. For my meal I ordered the Hangover Benedict. It was two poached eggs with hollandaise served over a slice of andouille and italian sausage. It also came with a side of cheesy hash browns. The serving size was a bit smaller than I expected, but I did leave with a full tummy. My friend ordered the broccoli scrambler and that was good too. For dessert we ordered the carrot cake, which is massive by the way. The beautiful dessert counter at the entrance is the reason I ordered this unnecessary indulgence. Very solid place to enjoy brunch.

This place is a gem! John is an awesome bartender and the third shift happy hour on Saturdays and Sundays is a major deal. Food is exceptional! Will definitely be back. Try the bacon wrapped jalapeño apps. Outstanding !

I had very high hopes for bluephies as it came highly recommended by friends. The chicken chili was bomb but most other things were fine but very lackluster. Tried the cookie dough egg rolls which was decent. I will say their service was great! They could tell I wasn’t thrilled with my cosmic granola(didn’t have pomegranate seeds or warm syrup as advertised) so the desert was on the house!

I’d say the best thing about Bluephies is that they take reservations. I was always getting roped into going here for brunch because my friends would want to go in a group of more than four and during the busiest times: P Their drinks are good — try a scoop of sorbet with champagne! Overall, the savory dishes are way too greasy and the pancakes/french toast are sickeningly sweet. But if you need to find a place that takes reservations, Bluephies is one of the few brunch spots that does just that.

Would have liked to «love» «Bluephies», but alas I can not. After my first 2 selections were not available to order…(Mediterranean pasta bowl, 2 egg breakfast) I settled on the black bean burger… That was more like a bean dip than burger… Tomato was not quite ripe and hard in the center, causing the pressure of biting down on it to send the contents out all sides of the bun, and on to the plate. The fries were excellent, as was my wife’s Chicken Pot Pie… As I am posting this, I am being approached by one of the managers that was genuinely interested in my concern. For those who may not think that your« Unilocal» voice is heard by the Establishment’s you frequent. I am here to tell you that they are… She noticed the comments that I posted with the pictures on this review… And sought me out to try to rectify my concern’s. While the first manager passed us by, the second stopped to apologize for any inconvenience, and assured us that this was not a typical experience for their diner’s. And for that, I have added 2 more star’s, and may give them another chance in the future Thank you for caring about your patrons concern’s, and for doing something more than just shrugging us off. She credited our Bill for the burger, and offered us a free desert. What made the biggest difference was her sincerity, and willingness to own the mistakes.

Fantastic brunch spot, especially when you have visitors in town. They take reservations(huge plus) and can accommodate large parties. In case you weren’t able to make a reservation, they have a roomy waiting area and will serve you drinks and appetizers while you wait. Food: I haven’t had a dish here that I didn’t enjoy. This place rocks for my sweet toothed friends out there — they have bomb chocolate cake(that I may or may not have eaten while waiting to be seated) and cookie dough egg rolls. For brunch, their stuffed French toast is pretty tasty. If you’re not into sweets, you’re still in luck; I liked the eggs Benedict and they were accommodating to my vegetarian request. My boyfriend loves the hangover Benedict. Drinks: if you’re in the mood for champagne, you can’t go wrong with the lazy bartender. They basically serve you a bottle of champagne with 3 juices of your choice. Our personal favorites include mango, grapefruit and the classic OJ. I’m not a Bloody Mary person, but I’ve heard raving reviews of their bloodies, especially the wakey wakey.

This review is based on dinner– not brunch(which I heard is a must at Bluephie’s). The food was was just average– neither outstanding nor disappointing. I ordered the Ooey Goey pasta that sounded great on paper, but fell short of something. It just didn’t taste complete. I probably wouldn’t try this place out again for dinner, but will definitely check it out for brunch!

Ate here with family on a Monday night, the final night of my 2 weeks leave from San Diego before going back west. This was my debut visit here as was the 4 others in my group. We dined in about 7pm and it was not very busy at all. We were seated quickly, drink orders taken and brought out quickly. I had the peppermint tea. I ordered the Moroccan chicken as I saw pictures of it online and it looked, sounded great… it was! 3 perfectly grilled chicken breast tenderloins, seasoned, over a bowl full of warm chickpeas, pitted dates and cooked spinach. Delicious! I also got the bowl of chicken chili without sour cream or cheese(dairy issues) and it was pretty darn good. Its white bean based with shredded chicken in a mild tomato type sauce. My meal was about $ 23 and worth every penny. Took a bit of time for our meals to come out but it was worth the wait even if it was not very busy. Our server was super friendly and tentative. Only part I regret is not coming here sooner in my break time to come back again for more. There pie display case in front looked epic! They had my favorite… carrot cake!

Hey — our last visit was great. Fantastic Food, fantastic service. There are a lot of new options on the menu since I was last here and many newer choices looked excellent. I settled on the Ooey Gooey Pasta and was not disappointed.

Came for Sunday brunch and while the food was good the service was awful. Only interaction we had with anyone was when we ordered and got our check. No one even looked at our table; we never got any refills of water or coffee. We asked for more butter and we’re told someone would grab some, but we never got any. We sat waiting for our check for 20 minutes before our waiter finally noticed us. We will most likely not be back anytime soon.

My first time at Bluephies and it was a Sunday brunch. The wait was about an hour. Pretty busy. It was about 10:45 when we got there. I did like the fact that they offered to take your drink order while sitting and waiting. It’s too bad they don’t offer full menu in the bar area. And they could benefit from a pager system. We were seated but our waiter or waitress was nowhere to be found. It was well over ten minutes before we received service. I was hungry. The drinks are awesome. Had the blood orange sorbet mimosa. Coffee was great. The«Hangover Benedict» was absolutely delicious. The cheesy hash browns were sort of a surprise but good. The food was great. I wanted to try multiple items but I’ll definitely come back. Just not during brunch necessarily. Oh and the carrot cake was amazing. We took a piece home. Came with a Carmel sauce. Enough for two. That’s for sure.

Completely and totally overrated. First of all, they should tell you not all Bloody styles are available daily. The bar is small and cramped. The place is weird as it is in a strip mall. I could skip it twenty times over. I had a couple of their martinis, nothing I can remember. It was boring. No imagination.

Went with my friend for salads, drinks. Was served grey, old– looking chicken on my salad– they offered me «precooked chicken shreds» as replacement – so I asked for a new salad without meat! Also friend ordered a mojito– mint was black, also returned to kitchen. I’ll add a photo of drink. I expect more from a restaurant for sure.

Great service. Terrific food. Fun atmosphere. Ordered cheese curds: which were delicious. And the kale and spinach salad was amazing!(And I don’t even like kale, so that’s how amazing it is!)

I’ve been meaning to check this place out for a long time, and I was very happy I finally made it. I had the stuffed eggplant rolls, and they were very satisfying and light. I can’t wait to go back and try something else!

I am straight-up ADDICTED to your Banana Foster French Toast! I swear that carmel sauce has crack in it!(Weekend Brunch only) For those of you who haven’t gone, get something sweet and something salty. Be prepared to wait 30 – 60 min on Sunday morning — perfect time for a bloody! New Bloody — FUNYUNS! nice PS. ever since last review, Avocado-extravaganza is still my favorite salt pick.

Last sunday was actually the second time I’ve been here for brunch. First time I was here, we had a very large party(around 20 people), and the service was amazing. I do not recall our server’s name(it was too long ago), but I remember she was fun, sweet, and so informative. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, so she gave us a view master that showed us all the desserts, and my boyfriend got to pick his own complimentary birthday treat. I had the traditional eggs Benedict, and I was very happy. We came hungry and we left full and very happy. This time, we came with a party of ten, and we were serviced by a different server. I had the Fat Boy bloody Mary, which was absolutely amazing, with the hangover eggs Benedict. This plate was very delicious, but I would have enjoyed some greens with the plate. I do remember Everyone else had a variation of the bloody Mary, and they were all good. Service was spotty this time, and we really would have appreciated a second server. Hash browns were a tad dry, and coffee was seldom refilled; this experience was very different from the first one. We came hungry and we left thirsty and tired. Overall, food is very good but slightly inconsistent. Both times I’ve come here had been for Sunday brunch, and both experiences average out to be a very delicious brunch with pretty good service. I look forward to coming back.

Open early for breakfast on Sunday morning(8 am), so you can sneak in before the church crowd, which from what I am told, can make this a busy place mid to late Sunday mornings. Breakfast was delicious(I had the Bananas Foster) and was very accommodating for kids. The menu had a ton of good stuff on it. I’m looking forward to a return visit! The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the coffee(black) — it just wasn’t very good. However, the chai latte my girlfriend had was delicious.

Being true to my own advice, I gave Bluphies and second try. Having looked at the brunch menu, and finding it a little more enticing, I swung by looking to reevaluate my precious stance as Bluphies being a disappointment. The verdict is I would say an upgrade from a 2 to a 3.51… so a 4 star rating it is In short the food I ordered was much much better than the first time around. Specifically I really enjoyed the fondue with marinated pears. They were a wonderful treat, one I hope to enjoy again and again. Get the fondue appetizer next time your at bluphies!!! The other things ordered and were served with good presentation and flavor was the crab Benedict, stuffed french toast with blueberry compote. So good job Bluphies, much better second time round! The not so great was still the dessert. We ordered the chocolate cake :(I love chocolate but that was unappealing to me. Although it looks great it’s way too sweet(and I don’t mean rich) and thick. Next time I’ll just stick to the main courses/appetizers and leave the desserts to other patrons.

Bluphies made me realize how much I don’t like when restaurants accept reservations for breakfast. I understand the need, especially when it’s an upscale/buzzing brunch establishment. But Bluephies didn’t seem like that place(at least while I was there). Walking in with half the restaurant empty and being told it was a 45 minute wait was off putting, but I had heard raving reviews of their bloodies so we took a seat at the bar and stuck it out. I ordered the trio of bloodies, wouldn’t order it again but I enjoyed them. Next time I’ll go with one that’s made with the bacon vodka as that was my favorite by far. When we were finally seated(about an hour later) I ordered the Stuffed French Toast for my meal. I would’ve given this place 3 stars had it not been for this amazing dish. It was so good! My waiter gave me a very good suggestion about ordering the short stack, as you still get a ton of food. The filling was perfectly sweet and the berry topping was delicious. I would order this a thousand times over again, but will probably try another one of their varieties next time I’m in. I’ll be sure to make a reservation, too.
