This is my go-to dog park, and has been for many years. There is a great group of regulars that I always look forward to visiting with, when I have«my» dog(he only stays with me sometimes). Most visits have been problem free. Years ago, one of my dogs punctured his foot deeply on something on the bottom of the marsh, necessitating weeks of peroxide water soaks to get it to finally heal. But there are several entrances to the water, and I’d recommend sticking with the main one, with the pontoon-type float and ramps. There’s been other times when badly behaved dogs have caused fights and injuries, thankfully not to my dogs, but I’ve seen it happen.(Leashes have no place in the dog park. It encourages territorial and aggressive behavior in the dog. Let them off the leash and they will chill out and realize that none of them owns the place! If they still can’t chill out, then please take them home.) It’s a fairly large, lovely park with trees, nice trails, a large common grassy area in the center, and of course the marsh where your avid swimmers can blissfully wear themselves out chasing sticks in the water.

Ran into this place randomly and it is really pretty! Had no intentions of stopping but I happened to be in running clothes and decided to explore. Totally worth it. There were three spots where I was just totally taken aback because it was not at all what i was expecting. The trail is well groomed, well thought out and a very small amount of exposure to road traffic. They do not allow dogs but it looks like a few neighbors will bring their dogs in. There is water access as well and it looked like the people on the boat was fishing. Not sure how good the fishing was though! I kept getting distracted by the pretty water view.
