Have had several transactions lately, mostly title transfers. There has been virtually no wait with friendly helpful service. Real
improvement has happened. Keep up the good work.

I have no idea if I’m reviewing the correct location of the DMV that is prompting this review (though I have been here once or twice, and it was efficient), and it really may not matter since they’re going to tear this building down anyway…
Anyway, I got my renewed auto registration in the mail and it was missing the little plastic sticker that you stick on your license plate. All I could think was what a hassle this was going to be… they’re not going to believe me when I call (I would guess those little stickers are pretty valuable!), I’m gonna go through a load of automated prompts to get some bureaucrat who will probably tell me I need to show up in person, and maybe even get something notarized or some other nonsense. Nope! I get a totally nice guy on the phone who says «Oops! Yeah, you should have got a sticker in there– we’ll send one off to you today». Two days later I’m good to go. Yeah Wisconsin DMV!

Oh, the DMV. How do you give any DMV anything other than 1 star? Objectivity is key…
We all know the bad of every DMV, which this one takes and tops with a cherry in that some of the regular employees talk at a quiet whisper level. The good part (where I step back and say, there is a good part at this DMV guys!) is that they keep the line moving fairly well. Moving to Madison and living in two different places within two months, I was here a few more times than I would have liked. (So, I was here a few times.) The longest I was here was about 30 – 40 minutes total, between the wait in line and switching my stuff to my new address. That was with me getting there at 4:25 on a Friday (right at closing time) in the middle of the month, so I’m assuming that’s a fairly representative instance of the worst you’ll generally wait.

Very fast service and friendly staff. I was really surprised by how fast it is. The staff help you out as much as possible.

I had a slightly complicated registration/​title process with my new car. The agent that I worked with was prompt, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and super easy to work with. While it took me a solid 15-​minutes to get everything taken care of, she made it extremely painless.
Super awesome location. The DMV doesn’t get any better than this.

I’ve been to this DMV twice in the last 60 days to register two different vehicles. Each time was after 3:30 which meant they were a tad busy. Despite the level of customers waiting, they made it absolutely seamless for me to get my stuff and go.
Also when calling the office to ask about specific items I found it very easy to find someone to answer your question.
This is by far the best DMV center in Wisconsin.

Compared to other DMVs I been to (NYC DMV), this place is running fast and efficient.
I waited maybe 2 mins for photo, 5 minutes for my number to be called, and maybe 3 mins to get my app processed. Maybe 15 – 20 minutes total time from parking my car to driving off w/​a new driver’s license.
¹⁰⁄₁₀ would license again.

I wholeheartedly agree with Steve L’s assessment of the Wisconsin DMV mother ship. Disregard the stereotype of the disaffected state employee — I’ve always been impressed with my interactions with the staff at this location. I recently had to call them about getting a replacement tags for my vehicle. The wait to get a live person was short and the staff members I spoke to were courteous and professional. I also liked that they have a short satisfaction survey you can take after you complete your call — they seem committed to making positive interactions with the public
When visiting in person to renew my drivers license, I’ve had the same positive interactions, but the wait times can be long, especially on Monday.

When I think DMV I think very salty people who work in service but are really just there to get a check. Then I moved to the midwest. Though this place is never a hoop hollering good time I am always greeted with a smile. The staff at this location will eagerly answer any questions you have without any of that sass they throw at you on the west coast.
The hours here are a bit inconsistent however. Sometimes they open at 8 sometimes at 8:30. I think I may have even come here at 7:30 once. My recommendation? Check the website so you aren’t just hanging around the DMV like some sort of fan.
I am not sure if this place allows you to make reservations but I don’t think you would even need to. The last few times I have been here I was in and out within 15 min. I am sure there are times when they get really busy but it you’ve ever lived in a major city then you will be thankful fo the half hour wait here.

I moved here from Chicago, and trips to the downtown DMV are always «get comfortable» ordeals, and you better get your shield up because it is so unnecessarily rude and intense.
I was in and out with a new sticker here in literally 4 minutes. (O_​O) I was stunned. Didn’t even have time to take my jacket off and start reading Game Of Thrones cause I thought I’d be there a while. First time in my life I was happy after a trip to the DMV!

Good to have a neighborhood type location.
Process is pretty speedy as in there are a variety of letters and numbers being called at any given time so look out for yours.
Some reps will do what others say «I can’t do» or will take online bank statements when other reps say, «we can’t take these.» Yep, same day different rep in a matter of minutes apart.
It’s better than my hometown DMV. Folks act like they actually like their jobs and go about providing decent service to that effect.

This place is so irritating!!! And not to mention rude state workers.
