Econo Lodge

Stingy owners, kept coming up with excuses why I can’t get choice hotels points. My blanket has burn holes in it. Breakfast was crappy and there are always shady people in the parking lot.

The only reason we chose this place was because it was cheap, took large dogs (2 of ‘em), and the reviews seemed alright. I’m now GLAD we had our large dogs because I didn’t feel particularly safe there. It gives you the feeling of a place people who are down and out live on a week to week basis.
The whole motel, as well as our room, was very outdated and was run down in places. (There is a Wisconsin hotel laws form from 1950 on back of the bathroom). Smelled old/​stale, looked old. AND the retaining wall between to the building and the road was literally falling apart and they just put yellow tape around it to keep people away. FIX IT! Someone is destined to get hurt, likely a kid.
There IS such a thing as old and charming. This place was the latter.

Clean. Great for $ 60/​night price with the included basics — breakfast, wifi, parking, 1 pillow per person, safe, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, and toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion).

HEAT vs A/​C — a good dry heat. On a hot humid summer day, the window A/​C will NOT be able to provide coldness. Cool is your best option, in your birthday suit and don’t move.

As far as The Econo Lodge goes this is a great one! What you see is what you get. Clean bed, nice staff, welcoming environment. Just 15 minutes from downtown with a bunch of dining spots close by.
This is another well maintained hotel within the Choice Hotels network.

I have stayed here on multiple occasions, never a bad time. The staff is friendly, the rooms and sheets are clean and there is free WiFi and of course, cable. Although this isn’t a 4 star hotel, it’s a place to sleep. Most rooms have a mini fridge with a microwave and you can always request it. No gym or pool but free continental breakfast daily is sufficient for me.

Unfortunately, we had to stay here during the week of Epic’s UGM 2013 conference.
My room was dirty. The rooms had a stale, mildew smell. The shower/​tub looked like it had a layer of grime that needed a lot of scrubbing and disinfectant.
The few positives about this place are: 1) free HBO; 2) it is located near a handful of restaurants.
I hope this will be my first and last time staying in an Econo Lodge. Ugh.

Stayed on a business trip seeking to save money on the nightly rate. Spending $ 10 more a night would have been worth it to book another room. Rooms were old, TV was junky and bathrooms were ok. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect.
Skip the complimentary breakfast as the choices are slim and offerings looked old. Complimentary coffee was a nice touch if you could pour more than 1 oz. at a time.
Good location, low prices, below par rooms. I’d recommend spending a few bucks more to stay at Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn.

I went there this weekend for my girlfriend’s senior prom; the staff was really friendly and helpful. I got the standard king bed room, it wasn’t fancy but it did the trick. There prices are good; I might go back someday.
