H & M

The employees are very rude at the West Towne location and seem less than pleased to help you on the sales floor or in the fitting rooms. They also shut off their store music 17 minutes before their store closed last time I was in. The clothes are cute but the guest experience is terrible.

Dear reader, what, in this life, is perfect? I submit nothing. Unlike my time in college, submitting nothing has proved to be advantageous. Nothing is perfect. Since nothing is perfect, do you know how much pressure that takes off of the V-​neck sweater? You don’t have to move mountains, sweater! Just fit nicely and look good.
You don’t need to solve racism, fashionable jeans for under $ 30! Just be a good deal and be nicely organized and available in a variety of sizes and styles!
I see you sweating over there, understated and classy undershirts and dress shirts! But don’t you worry, ISIS isn’t your problem! You’re just an essential part of any wardrobe that is abundant and well-​tended to. International terrorism shouldn’t even be on your radar, scamp!
You can exhale, large and browsable selection of bras and underwear! The ongoing Greek debt crisis is being handled by the European Union, not you. The Germans are propping up nearly the entirety of the European economy on loans and lending practices, but you only need to prop up some breasts, dude. No big deal.
Yeah, Bernie Sanders is probably running a doomed campaign because «socialist» is too negative a buzzword but you don’t need to worry about that, limited selection of outdoor jackets and clothing! Your primary focus should just be on getting bigger and expanding your selection. What is there is nice, man! We could just use a little more.
There hasn’t been a lot of good news in the world lately, dear reader. Humanity is hurting. We are imperfect and we need to find our way through these dark days. But H&M? H&M is doing everything it should. Cheap, fashionable clothing. It’s not your job to break down barriers, H&M. We, the people, will heal. By and by. We will heal in some really nice jeans and sweaters.

It’s been a long time since I’ve found a hidden gem among the racks and racks (and racks and racks) of clothes at H&M, but they have ultra-​reliable hoodies of which I’m slowly amassing a rainbow collection.
On weekends the store can be a mess, but during the week it’s been kept in fairly good order. There aren’t many associates roaming the store if you need help, but checkout usually goes pretty quickly, which is a plus.
Even though I’ve struck out the last couple times, I’ve found enough rad stuff in the last fifteen or so years that I’ve been shopping there to keep giving it a go. That’s the great thing about fashion — there’s always something new.

I went to the H&M at West Towne hoping to score some replacements for my much loved but getting a bit worn H&M sweaters and tanks. But instead I unwittingly engaged in a very un-​fun game called «Try and Find Anything Over a Size Medium».
I’m not sure if the place fell under new management that hates «fatties» or something, but from new items to clearance items, ¾ of the items were XS, S or M. This place is a total waste of time unless you fit into one of those 3 size categories.
