Do you love local? Do you love handmade? Do you love shop owners who are willing to chat you up, tell you about the items in their shop, and help you tap into your own creativity? You’ll find all of that at Juneberry. Some things I really loved on a recent visit were the birch tree pillows and the wooden Madison/Wisconsin signs. Most of all I’ve loved feeling welcomed into the shop and knowing that questions and browsing are welcomed — it’s not a place solely for making transactions, but to make friends and learn about local makers.

Who needs a craft bazaar when you have Juneberry year round?! Very friendly staff members and a fun selection of homemade products. I love the fact that everything is local. Makes for gifts with a lot of personality! With the amount of Pinterest-fails I have lived through, I give these peeps some cred. The items are well priced and for«homemade with love», they are comparable to other retail items like it. They have items from lotion bars and soap to prints of Madison scenery. They do have an entire baby section. Not sure if that rotates or not but it is a great place to visit!

A business that opens up during construction and does so with a positive attitude out outlook for the future deserves 1000 stars, but for now I’m only allowed to give five. The fact that owners are artists, and use the space not only as a workshop/studio but a marketplace means the space has a pretty cool energy with little nooks for crafting scattered about some pretty stellar retail products. The items they don’t make come from other Madison artists, which a few items from neighboring states, still all handmade. Their class schedule is starting to come together for 2015, so follow them on social sites to get word about opportunities to learn more about the space and pick up a skill or two! And when it comes to holiday shopping, this place has it all. Their hand painted scarves are sort of insane… such awesome design work.
