I had a really easy and efficient experience with the parking utility while obtaining meter hoods to secure parking for moving into my apartment. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was able to answer all of my questions, and was able to process my request the same day I called for parking the next day.
When my passes were ready all I had to do was stop in, sign a form, and get my hoods. The woman who helped me was sure to explain how to display them and the restrictions, and got me in and out in under five minutes.
Hoods are $ 17 a day and they recommend two for accommodating moving trucks or, in my case, a pickup truck with a trailer. You can place the bags as early as 3:30 PM the day before — I went downstairs at 3:35 and another woman had already snagged the spaces in front of our apartment. Good work/​curse you, woman! At least I was able to grab two spots across the street — a little further up the block one of the stalls was a 25-​minute max space, and they have to be 30+ minutes to be eligible for hoods.
Glad I had heard from a friend you can pre-​pay meters with hoods — this made moving in much, much easier.
