I hired Edward Fritzi($ 150) to provide an appraisal of a sculpture I possess because I thought that an art appraiser in Georgia would be knowledgeable about local(Atlanta) artists. It took some time before telephone and email contact could be made because both are often unanswered or indicate they are not functioning. Ultimately, his assistant asked me to supply her with contact information for the artist and then she took nearly two months to make two phone calls(one to the artist and one to a gallery) before making the appraisal. He should have also done an investigation of resale sources and the artist’s joint work with other artists. I question his involvement in, and the validity of, the appraisal.
