McCaughey Properties

I lived in a McCaughey building for two and a half years, and had by far the best landlord I have ever had. Requests for services were always met within 2 days, and our questions answered within the day. When we needed our drain to be unplugged, they sent someone within the day. They were very upfront and transparent about any costs we might incur, and never sent us around in circles like most rental places. Our building was always clean as well.

I have never been treated worse or insulted more. I drove up from Chicago to Madison to view an apartment with the owner, Patrick. We had been corresponding for 2 weeks prior and had last had contact 2 days before our arranged showing. I showed up at the property 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment. He said, «Oh, right, you are from Chicago. Yeah, I forgot to tell the tenant so I can’t show you the apartment». I was dumbfounded. I said that that was completely unprofessional. Like a light switch had turned on, he turned around and got into my face. He told me if I didn’t like it to call the cops. He told me to get the F of his property. He got in my face and said «WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO, HIT ME»??? I have never been treated worse and want the world to know what kind of person this guy is. I hope karma comes back and get him.
