Went here during a meeting in September. I used to live in CT, but had never been here, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. First of all, I drove to this place from Bradley airport in the middle of the night and got a little lost trying to find it. I drove right past it. My GPS was screaming at me to turn left, but from my rental car, it looked just like a school, but the Mercy Center is a bit farther off the road. So, be warned. Good thing that there’s a lot of driveways to turn around in on that street(sorry if I woke you up, folks!). Anyway, I stayed here two nights. It’s definitely not a resort or hotel, so don’t go in thinking you’ll get Four Seasons treatment. You’ll need to make your own bed, and take off the sheets when you leave. Phone service and wifi were spotty at best in the rooms. I shared a room with two twin beds and an old-looking bathroom. Nothing was outright dirty, but the rooms were showing their age and there were ant traps in the bathroom. But, mamma mia, the water in the showers was hotter than the lakes in Hades! Damn! I almost burned my arms off. The kitchen in the house was decently appointed, our group was able to make tea and coffee in the morning without any issue. We did have lunch in the main center one day – not bad food, a number of choices: soup, a pasta dish, a fish dish, a salad/fruit bar, and a number of desserts. One of the soups was vegetarian, which was nice. Because it’s set off the road, it’s very quiet and I really found some good time to think there(and since the doggone wifi was a little wonky, what else was I going to do?). Not necessarily the best place for a work meeting, if you need the conveniences of technology, but definitely good for a spiritual retreat.

The view, atmosphere, food were great! A nice opportunity to unwind and connect with colleagues.
