North Side True Value

I love having this place in the neighborhood. Especially since their expansion a few years ago, North Side True Value is a really, really good hardware store.
The selection of products is really good — it’s very rare that I’ve needed anything that they didn’t have (and if they didn’t have it, neither did the big boxes or most online sources). Pricing is good too. Don’t assume that you need to go online or to a big store to get a decent deal.
The thing that *really* makes a great hardware store is the staff. Sometimes I walk in knowing exactly what I need, and they help me find it. Other times I have an idea what I need, and they help me choose the right product. But, other times, I just walk in with a problem, and they’re able to help me solve it. In these cases, I’ve always walked out smarter than I was when I came in. And their advice has always helped me save time, money, or sometimes my self, from getting into something over my head!
This is a great place for supplies, tools large and small, home improvement/​yard machinery, and rentals. And you can fill your propane tank here too!

Big store, lots of selection. Staff is friendly and helpful, although the store felt a little understaffed during my visit. Plenty of parking, easy check-​out.
