A Madison institution.
Playthings is full of all sorts of toys, but not the awful flavor-​of-​the-​week trendy crap. This is often the place you’ll be able to find high quality, unusual options. They have a lot of child-​positive options like Lottie dolls and don’t cater much to the «for girls» or «for boys» crap. They just have lots of wonderful options for all children throughout the store. I always pop in here when I’m at Hilldale to have a look around as, even as an adult, there’s always something fun to see!

Always a fun place to find interesting toys. They have the usual (Legos, Playmobile, etc) but many of the unusual. A real treat.

Usually been given good customer service but was trying to return a few items with receipt and employees had made a mistake with the receipt but clerk told me «our employee couldn’t have made this mistake.» I still had the tags and when I brought them in the next day was apparent the employees had mislabeled the clothing items. The cashier was rude and implied I was lying. The store manager was also rude and never even apologized!
