This is a great bike shop. Love that the owner/​manager is always there, he is very helpful and friendly, willing to offer advice, as well as find solutions to your problem. The shop is on the small side, but the selection is great, better than some larger shops, who seem to focus more on clothes, shoes, and accessories, rather than actual bike parts. On another note, I find their prices to be consistently very good. I used to always go to Budget, but I find the prices at Trail This to be consistently lower.
Haven’t bought a new bike here, but they do have a good selection. I mostly buy parts and tools, and I can definitely say this is one of the best places in town for the home mechanic to get parts and tools. As a plus, this feels like a shop that will actually help you out with your own problems you might be having. Many other bike mechanics can make you feel like an idiot if you don’t happen to know as much about bikes as they do (and not many people do, as being a bike mechanic is what they do for a living…). Not the case here, very willing to help out, and always have a good and helpful attitude.
This is my new stop for everything I need. Located just off the bike path is very convenient as well.

Great selection of bikes/​parts/​accessories. But … I was in for a repair! I have an OLD Schwinn, and the gear shift cable broke. I bought a new cable and thought to fix it myself, but the job turned out to be more complex.
I called up Jeff at Trail This, and he thought he could get it working, and he did! $ 40, and he fixed it RIGHT AWAY. I didn’t have to walk home and then come back later! It works great, and he tweaked a couple of other things «while he was in there» so my bike is now better than ever!
While I was there, a gentleman came in wanting to purchase new lights for his bike. Jeff didn’t take the opportunity for a new sale, but rather helped the guy figure out why the old lights weren’t working, and then helped him fix them. This is the kind of honest guy who will always get my business & recommendations!
The other great thing about this shop is the easy access to the Madison Southwest Commuter Trail. If you have a breakdown on the trail, the shop is less than half a mile from the beltline trail crossing/​bridge.

Pretty much a candy store for cyclists. A smaller store chocked full of everything you could want and more; with a knowledgeable, helpful, non-​douschebag staff.

Very happy with the customer service at this shop. He does a very thorough job and doesn’t overcharge.

I have never been into this bike shop. I ordered a set of cleats for my bike online because they were an amazing deal, not realizing that they were from this shop, which is a couple miles from my house. I will be stopping in ASAP!

Great place to buy parts «online.» Also, they are very helpful with any questions that you may have even to the smallest details. My question was regarding the chainring bolts sizes: diameter, length, and width to the mm. You guys rock
