I have been coming to the Corner George Inn ever since it opened — full disclosure I am family with the owners. However I’ve been there in the summer and for countless Thanksgivings. I used to work out of the little bakery/ice cream shop in the summers. The ice cream is good in the summer, but the banana breads and pumpkin breads are fantastic and I often buy some to take back to NY with me at Thanksgiving. Yum. As for the B&B itself, you can’t ask for a more authentic feel in an old German town by a creek(except for the WiFi, about 2 years old now). Not a hand sewn quilt throw or piece of antique nostalgia is out of place. The breakfast is fantastic. Ask Marcia for some of their special Tea. It’s addictive. For me it is a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of NYC and I am always very refreshed when I return home.

We have been visiting family and staying at the Corner George for 20 years, since it opened. Dave and Marcia Braswell are the most gracious of hosts, solicitous without imposing. The historic bldg in the historic little river village is charming, not cloyingly countrified, wi-fi friendly and yet it lets you relax and retreat some from the constant nattering of your cell phone. Carriage rides are available from a local cowboy, antique finds from mid century pottery to apple butter made in Maeystown. One of our favorite rooms is a remodeled«summer kitchen» behind the inn. Cut river rock keeps it cool in the summer. Love this place, get lucky and go.

Located in a town of just under 150 people, the Corner George is quite possibly the greatest bed and breakfast ever. A standard room with private bathroom will run you just under 90 bucks and that includes breakfast, a local history lesson and(if you’re lucky) a little walking tour by proprietor David Braswell. Decked out in full German charm in a town where time seems to have stood still, the Corner George sits between a general store, ice cream shop and across the street from a coffee shop. Take a walk along the 2 creeks, check out the one-lane stone bridge and drive along the bluffs after a home-cooked breakfast. Seriously. Braswell is nice as they come and has created a damned amazing place to stay.
