We stopped for breakfast here on a mountain weekend trip and it was absolutely amazing. I had the best pancakes I have had in a long time. My fiancé loved his breakfast. Everything was cooked exactly as we requested and service was quick and we were back on the road with full stomachs and ready to explore. We will definitely make this place a part of our future mountain trips. :) it’s well worth the wait!

Decent food but very uncomfortable service. Our party of 12 was split between three smaller tables, which was fine. Our server came to take our order three different times in the span of about 90 seconds and each time we told her we were still looking at the menu(and wrangling two small children). She said she was under pressure from the kitchen to take orders quickly so we just went ahead and ordered without much thought. The Reese’s peanut butter pancakes and hashbrowns casserole were favorites at our table. Everything else was average. The server constantly tried to take plates we were not finished eating from, and even delivered the check to one of our tables that hadn’t even received their food yet. A strange experience to be sure. I get that they were very busy, but a little more time spent on customer service and a little less time pushing people through like cattle would go a long way.

If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Very cordial service, wonderful selection for breakfast foods, experienced and knowledgeable waitress(Christine), and quite tasty food. I came with a group the other day and we had a short wait. During that wait, the hostess(Sandy) talked with us about the area and the restaurant, as we weren’t from the area. She was very sweet and helpful throughout. Once seated, our waitress(Christine) came by to take our drink order and talk about the menu. We had two gluten-free patrons with us, and she was great at recommending certain items on the menu. She even noticed later when the food came out, that one of the gluten-free patrons had butter on her plate. Christine made sure to let this patron know that their butter had gluten. I was quite impressed that she remembered this information and offered the advice. Kudos to her! The food was fantastic, all of it. There wasn’t anything that I would say was even mediocre(and I’m quite a picky complimenter), it was all really good. If I’m in the area again, I’ll have to stop by and try their reese’s pancakes. Yum!

Joey” Pancake house as been in Maggie valley since the 1960’s. It has become a tourist location and is usually busy… So busy that often you have to wait one half hour to get a table. I have no complaints about the breakfast. It was really good but no better than the many other restaurants in Maggie Valley. The prices are way high. I don’t know what the big deal is about Joey’s.

Ok Joey’s is average, regular breakfast place. Nothing special just same as any other place you go for breakfast. The thing they have going for them is that this town of Maggie Valley has nothing in it so no real competition. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good but not great. Again just another breakfast joint. Wait time was about 20 minutes and service was ok. I was a little disappointed in the fact I asked for sour cream. I got a tiny cup not even a scoop for $ 1.25. This place is like 2.5 stars. I make just as good of pancakes at home. Not saying I wouldn’t come back but it isn’t a place I would run back to either. It is hard for anything to compete with Yoders in Sarasota, Florida that I live near. Thus far nothing comes close to competing.

Average or below. This place was very busy and we had to wait at least 25 minutes. Based on the crowd and the other reviews I was anticipating a great breakfast but wasn’t impressed. The sweet potato pancakes had the consistency of a pumpkin pie which didn’t appeal to me. I’ve made better pancakes and eggs at home and I’m not known for my cooking. The cheese grits were good but the small bowl wasn’t worth the price. Disappointed for the $ 55 we paid for the four of us.

My family and I have been coming here for years for breakfast. Family style restaurant, always kind people and fast service. Delicious everything from the omelettes to the pancakes and everything in between! Highly recommend for any visitors. Probably best breakfast in the area!

Only reason I gave it three stars is because of the service and the value. I have had better eggs at Waffle House. The pancakes were ok. Bacon… how can you mess that up anyway– mine was alright. The hash brown casserole was pretty good. We never got refills on our water. Eh.

Really enjoyed our meal. Classic breakfast fare– pancakes, eggs, bacon. Great place nestled in the mountain. Was a tad pricey. The service was great. Get there early to avoid the long lines.

Excellent food, Excellent Service. We have been going to Joey’s for 30 plus years. The sweet potato pancakes are like having desert for breakfast. Honey Ham is the best. Hash brown casserole… oh my… and the biscuits and sausage gravy… Cleanest restaurant I have ever been in.

Joeys has been a family favorite for many years, a great place to get your favorite breakfast with a great local feel. The crew is always friendly, and the food fresh and tasty. Be prepared to wait as many others love to come here too :-)

Portion is really small and overpriced. I ordered omelet which the inside is cold and the egg outside is over cooked. The line is also pretty long. Overall service is okay. There is no reason to come back again.

A good breakfast is the best way to start your day. Best place in Haywood County to do that is Joey’s Pancake House. This review will be pretty easy to write, since Joey’s is freaking awesome! You don’t stay in business for almost 50 years serving bad food. If you go here on a weekend, then you can expect to see a line out the door. Don’t fear the line, take it as an opportunity to chat with fellow pancake lovers. They have free coffee while you wait, and a pager system to keep things moving. Not to mention the nicest ladies you will ever meet running the line. Once you get inside you find a nice simple country design that really has not changed much over the year. First thing you will notice is how clean it is! Second thing you might notice is the staff is extremely quiet. There is no banging dishes, no goofing around, or being loud. They just get their work done. That is the way it should be, and as a restaurant blogger the things I look for and take note of. We went on a Sunday morning, and it was a capacity crowd as usual. As soon as the hostess sat us at our booth the flurry of activity starts. With the speed of a seasoned NASCAR pit crew, you are greeted by a lady with coffee and cups to see if you need caffeine. Then your waitress will show up with water and a cheery good morning. They know how to be very attentive without being overbearing. With a crowd like this, you have to flip tables but at the same time make guests feel like they are not rushed. The food here is fantastic. It has tasted the same since I first ate here 35 years ago. Probably the most consistent kitchen in the area. I had pancakes, scrambled eggs, country ham, and coffee; and it was all perfection. Audrey had banana nut pancakes, bacon and hash brown casserole, which was also perfect. Just cannot say anything bad about this place. Our server was keeping a close eye on the tables as usual. Once finished she was back to make sure everything was OK, and see if we wanted more. With a pleasant smile and thank you she left our check. As I said earlier, they know how to be very hospitable and flip tables at the same time. If you have never been here, you must try it. During the week is usually the best time so you beat the crowd. If you can’t, then come early on the weekend, or make a reservation. Yes, it is that good that a breakfast joint takes reservations!

Fabulous breakfast. Fresh peach topping was amazing on wife’s oatmeal and on my pancakes. Corned beef hash was nicely toasted and bit crispy off the grill — just as I liked it. We’ll be back for sure!

Pretty much everything you want for breakfast from eggs to oatmeal, hash brown casserole to SOS(ok…Chipped Beef) I had mine on a big, flaky and tender biscuit — loaded with the not-too-salty dried beef(check the pic I posted). Good stuff. Prompt and courteous service, although you might have a bit of a wait to get seated; this place gets crazy busy. Coffee refills — spot on. Eggs done to your liking. This is a solid 4 star breakfast-brunch spot.

Just discovered this awesome place. Thanks Unilocal and Unilocalers! It’s so neat to see it located in Maggie Valley in the Smokies. Picked a beautiful area for sure. Read there might be a wait, but was willing to try. It was packed, but somehow we only had to wait about five minutes. Cool! We ordered the Country Benedict… OMGoodness! It was table smacking good. The hash-brown casserole was heavenly all by itself, with cheese and a baked crispness on the edges. I savored every bite. Their sauce is sausage gravy instead of hollandaise and the eggs are scrambled instead of poached(it’s a country thing). While we were eating, we started planning one of our next vacations in this area. So that means…(in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)…“We’ll be back”.

Yup. Crowded as heck on Mother’s Day but they have a big space and plenty of friendly staff to run the show. Food was delicious. And large portions. Luckily They let us share.
