Food was good diner grub but the service was really lacking. Catfish tasty as was the Reuben sandwich was also nice.

I’m new to Texas and my boyfriend took me here for breakfast and now we go almost weekly because we love it! Service is good and friendly! Coffee is great and so is the breakfast items. Haven’t tried any of their lunch or dinner items. Overall great every time!

Very good down home country cooking style. Service is 5 star. Gets a little crowded at peak hours! Actually 4.5 stars!

Service was slow but you get your money’sworth. Too much food for me. That’s just me. there are always slot of trucks out front so they must be doing something right. The staff is very nice. I will go back for lunch

Not bad better than the average diner. Décor is good for the concept, friendly staff, a bit of a wait on the weekends but for the style of food and demographic that’s to be expected. Kid friendly, family oriented, decent price point for the quality.

Large diner with a great staff. The food has potential, but just falls short due to what seems to be a lack of care in the kitchen. Visited once at breakfast, and my scramble was served cold in the center. Not room temp, but cold. Curious which part came from the fridge since everything should have been quick cooking. Biscuit tasted old; the texture was awful. If the scramble had been hot, it would have been a good breakfast, though. Dinner was the same story. Fried catfish plate was huge, more than enough for the money. The fish was done very nicely, with a thin, crispy cornmeal batter, and the hushpuppies were fantastic, too. But the onion rings tasted metallic, and their chicken fried steak was tough and tasted of raw flour. All in all, it’s not a bad stop for a quick meal, but the missed potential is frustrating.

The food was okay for breakfast. The table and chairs were sticky and gooey. Service was freindly and slow. that was okay we were talking. We were one table of about 5. I prefer The Nook in Tomball.

I ordered a burger here and the price was cheap and the burger was great for what I paid for. Would go to this place again.

My family have been eating there for years. There food has always been great. We decided to eat there today. What a disappointment. They have gone way up on their prices. Cut the portions in half and using less quality food. Example my son ordered the sour dough bacon burger. No longer served on sour dough bread. Using half toasted bread. Used to be hamburger meat. Now some sort of frozen patty. Not sure if it was even meat. Don’t get me started on what they did to my chicken fried steak. Or my wife’s chicken nachos. Sorry to say we won’t be back.

Pros: Tasty, good diner food with decent portions and fresh ingredients(never canned or frozen). I really love their omelets and hash browns(Yum!) GREAT, very friendly, attentive service and quick delivery to the table after ordering. Con: They have a smoking section in the back, but the smokes wafts everywhere.(Yuk!) I always ask to be seated as far forward as possible, but it is still there depending on how many people are smoking. If it wasn’t for this factor, I would definitely rate this place higher.

Food was ok. Gravy was too salty. It seems pretty overpriced for what it is, and the service was so-so. My 14 year old didn’t even finish her meal.

My favorite restaurant in the Magnolia area. My husband and I eat here every time we’re visiting relatives nearby. Pros: Super cute atmosphere, stellar service every time I’ve been. My favorite is the thoughtfulness of the food. Although there is all day breakfast, this isn’t a careless frozen entrée restaurant like IHOP. The fried Catfish(my favorite) and chicken fried steak/chicken/pork chops are completely hand battered, and delicious. I also love the healthy options, egg whites and fresh fruit bowls, and salads. Portions are HUGE. Two people can split a regular sized dinner, or one order a Mini and be stuffed. Prices are reasonable. Great for families. I’ve never ordered something I don’t like. The main highlights in my opinion, are the milkshakes, Fried catfish, and Cinnamon Roll pancakes. Cons: The smoking section. It’s not a huge deal, but it really de-classes the place. I hate smelling cigarette smoke while I’m eating, and smelling like it after I’ve left. I’d visit a lot more if it were rid of. I’d recommend visiting this place. Get a dessert if you’re going for dinner! Wish there were more locations in the Houston area.

We stopped here for breakfast one morning while staying in town. The first thing I noticed, which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine… perhaps worse than«BBQ» cooked in an oven, and that is the air conditioning rationing. Whenever one enters an establishment, typically convenience stores that are independently owned do this, and you feel a muggy, sticky, and thick staleness to their air you know the owner insists on turning the A/C off or way to high when the place is closed. This is a terrible practice that must stop. I realize that electricity is expensive and we should save power like a dirty hippie driving a prius, but I also do not want to feel thick muggy air in a building. Ok, enough on that… set your A/C to 75 at night and all is well. Now on to the somewhat important(as the A/C thing is major) food part of the review. The food was typical diner breakfast food, with the exception of the«lil smokey» type sausages. These are the thin link sausages one typically gets at a breakfast place. These sausages tasted awesome, which I have never said about commercially produced«mini sausages». They may have even been smoked. Definitely get those little sausages. The rest of the food was great and as expected. I could go one for hours about those sausages… and I may. Anyway, if they take my A/C usage advice this will earn a 5 star review and have years of success.

Not sure what the fuss is about. This place is totally average at best and overpriced for what you get. I cannot speak for the breakfast items, but lunch items are nothing at all to write home about. Per the waitress, the fries are frozen, the seasoned fries are frozen, and the jalapeño poppers are frozen, and that’s all we specifically asked about AFTER we were served the food and found it so mediocre. But I would guess much more is frozen and just popped in the fryer too. I don’t want that when I eat out. The homemade chips are a great idea, but have zero flavor. They aren’t even salted! Who doesn’t salt chips? I’ve never tasted anything so bland. And the salsa & ranch dip they serve them with are straight off a restaurant supply truck. We had the jalapeño poppers, a club sandwich with homemade chips, a fried chicken breast sandwich with frozen seasoned fries and 2 cokes. The bill with a tip was $ 37. Ridiculously priced frozen food items. If you want your meal to begin with frozen food… go to the grocery and do it yourself for a whole lot less money and find a real restaurant when you want to eat out.

This place gets 4 stars because the food is actually very good. Service is not always great. Depends on who you get.

Had the chicken fried steak with over medium eggs, sausage logs, bacon, and hash browns. Each was over the top well done. The chicken friend steak is the best one I’ve had, and I’ve had a plenty. I’d even say that it tops Mel’s, and Goodson’s of course is not good these days at all. My wife has French toast with poached eggs. All of hers was excellent as well. Service was a little slow(but considering the location its probably cultural lol) but the staff was extremely friendly. But why three stars? Went back again this morning and the service was the worst I have ever had. It was pretty slow with a Nother waitress yesterday. I figured it was a one-time thing

I have eaten here several times for breakfast, specifically for their Eggs benedict. It almost impossible to find that in small diner. It is excellent and I normally always order it until yesterday… WOWOWOWOW, I just had THEBEST Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs EVER. I thought L&T Café had the best CFS but they were proven wrong yesterday! I am going back this morning to see if lightening strikes twice. Really juicy, tender, & delicious. They still even gave me a side of Hollandaise Sauce so i could get my fix for eggs benedict. I will update my post after breakfast!

Just goes to show you that the little hole in the walls are sometimes the best places. We have good friends out in Magnolia, and we’ve eaten here a couple of times with them(as it is also the only diner in Magnolia, TX). Great food, great portions, and at a very reasonable price. Their food will fill you up, but won’t make you feel so bloated that you regret eating it all. I’ve had different kinds of burgers here(all super juicy, flavorful, and large!) and they use good bread for their burgers. Their other proteins are also good: pork chops(tasty and tender), and I love their veggies(smothered in butter and grilled to perfection). Milkshakes are thick and delish. Just lots of good options on the menu! Haven’t found a thing on the menu I haven’t liked yet, and will continue to come here.
