Very personable staff, comfortable rooms if not great as the A/C was a bit noisy. However, for this area this is the best place to stay for their customer service alone. They really took care of us and we will always stay there when in town.

I was wary about staying here, fear of being overcharged, after reading several negative reviews. I made reservations two weeks before my stay, gave them my credit card number. Drove 6 hours, owners were very pleasant at check in, had my room AC already on and room cooled. Beds were super comfy, and had down comforters on them, pleasant surprise. Pool is small. I was a bit disappointed that the room didn’t have a coffee maker in it, did had fridge and microwave, other then that, i had a pleasant stay.

So back on June 5th we had a power outage early evening — not just my house my *ENTIRE* subdivision. All of Texas has been in an exhaustive heatwave since May. We all tried to go to bed at about 8 pm with all the windows open because there was just noting else to do. I woke up not 2 hours later to my asthmatic son coughing. That was enough I called a couple of hotels in Magnolia and chose this one since it was so close to the school where he had day camp. I loaded him and myself and extra clothes into the car and off we went. A couple runs the place and I was a little disturbed when the husband came out in his pajamas to check us in but hey it was 11pm and his wife who was supposed to be minding the desk had wandered off to do something. Got signed in and she reappeared which was good because I couldn’t get my card key to work. After going back to the office she accompanies us and clearly she intimidated the technology because it worked just fine for her. After swearing I would never do it again I shared a king sized bed with my son but thankfully his father wasn’t with us this time so we both slept pretty well. The wall AC machine is pretty loud but I was too hot and sleepy to really care. The bed was really firm and the pillows comfy. The whole room was really clean and well kept. Mini fridge, hairdryer and coffee maker in the room. My one issue was what seemed like a door adjoining to the next room that I was able to see light under and hear the neighbouring TV way too well which made getting to sleep a bit more difficult than I would have liked. They have a nice breakfast 2 cereals, toast, bagels, danishes and a waffle machine that makes Texas shaped waffles. My 8 year old was very pleased to go to school that morning and tell everyone he ate Texas for breakfast. It was an $ 90 I really didn’t want to spend {which is insanely reasonable for a king suite} but it’s a pretty good place. I definitely recommend it to the traveling in Renaissance Festival crowd.

The hotel is clean, but the staff(owners I presume) are not friendly so much as rude and in your face about every little charge. I felt like big brother was watching and harassing me for having ONE extra person in my room. We were quiet, respectful, and pretty much just slept there, and we were getting phone calls and call outs for having an extra person in the room with us. VERY annoying, for $ 20, please give me a friggin break! For $ 150 a night and a 2 night minimum, in MAGNOLIA no less, I expect better treatment. I will never stay there again, and I would advise no one else to either. These people pretty much have a monopoly on lodging near the tx ren fest, but I hear there’s a new hotel in Conroe. Sleeping in my car ranks higher, and I am SOOO not a sleep-in-my-car kind of gal!

Mid-line, at best. Firm bed is a plus — wall heater/AC works but noisy. Staff very friendly and responsive. Centrally located. I’m back in town in a couple of weeks but will stay elsewhere.
