We contacted 5 contractors for bids to remodel our 20 year old pool. After narrowing the group to 3 we solicited bids from the contractors that we felt were acceptable. We ended up choosing Passion Pools based on the creativity of Rob Campbell. We felt like the other 2 really just wanted to get the job done and weren’t interested in helping us make our pool unique and special. Rob came up with a design that added a horseshoe shaped spa and a scupper wall along the deep end. Passion was not the cheapest bid but were reasonable when compared to the other 2 especially considering the uniqueness of our design. There are some pitfalls that come with starting a pool remodel in early November that you should be aware of. First the weather… every time it rains things will be delayed. Nothing we can do about that. Secondly if you have dogs… Rain+Construction= Muddy dogs. Rob warned us before we started that it was going to have to get worse before it gets better. Intellectually I knew this but emotionally it can be disappointing to come home to the mud and mess that comes with digging up your backyard. Finally keep in mind that many of the trades will take the same holidays during the winter that you take so there will be some downtime as these guys go home to spend time with their families. Rob reassured us it would be worth it in the end. Now on to the work. First the tile guy Pablo. This dude is meticulous! Our travertine turned out better than I imagined. The attention to detail is incredible. Our spa has what Rob refers to as a Neck Roll. Imagine instead of the sharp edge that usually cuts into your back you get a nice curved tile pillow. Huge difference and very unique. They also formed sort of a waterfall effect out of tile where the water flows over into the pool rather than the typical flagstone waterfall that everyone else does. Ours is the only spa I have seen that looks like this. Again… very unique and sets our pool apart from others. The plumber and electrician were also very professional and the equipment works great and looks very neat. No shortcuts here either. Finally Jim the startup guy. I’m convinced that Jim can figure anything out. We upgraded and went with the I-Aqualink control system. Jim pushed buttons and scrolled through setup menus like a 14 year old kid playing video games. The worst part of the project was the torture of having to wait 4 weeks for the finish to cure before using the heater. In the end our remodel project turned out beautiful. The only thing I would change if I were to do this again would be to start in early September rather than November to avoid the problems with the weather and to avoid the holiday downtime.

I purchased a new construction home in the Oak Forest neighborhood. I was wanting to put in a pool. I had a terrible experience with a pervious pool contractor at any other house. So I was very anxious about dealing with another company. So as I drove around the neighborhood I noticed the signs of Passion Pools in several yards. So I assumed they must have a great product and reputation. I made the call. I got ahold of 1 of the owners Rob. He came out the next day and we came up with a pool that would fit my needs and the size of the back yard. The process has been very easy and the product the put out is 2nd to none. Also the customer service has been amazing. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a pool built. Also the price is very competitive with all other pool companies. Thanks Glen Bethke

So, we had a problem with our pool pump operation on Christmas Eve morning. 10 family members about to descend upon us for the holiday, and the last thing my brother in law says before they load the kids up for the 4 hour drive to our house is «have beer cold and hot tub hot the moment I arrive.» So, I called Rob and the repair guy was here in an hour. Problem solved. Who does that on Christmas Eve? I wish I had another house so I could hire these guys to build me another pool.

This company is disorganized and never accepts responsibility for their mistakes. Their prices are full of holes and up charges. The contracted price is very misleading. Fully expect delayed work, excuses, broken promises and deceitful tactics to gouge you for more money! They are very unprofessional and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Not recommended! Rob blames everyone else, his own staff, his sub-contracted staff, rain, broken cell phone, etc for weeks of delays! Unprofessional. Unorganized. We are not happy with the quality of the stonework. Definitely not happy we contacted him in March and it is July and still only 2/3rds of the work is done. Very poor.

Rob, Roger and the rest of the Passion Pools team designed an absolutely amazing custom pool & spa combo in our backyard. We are truly blown away by what we were able to get for our money compared to what I’ve researched online even after the build. We sit in the spa at night still in disbelief at how awesome it turned out. The creativity and attention to detail is remarkable. Sparing you all of the day to day details I can tell you that as many modifications as we requested after starting, most people would have lost it as I am very particular. Not the case at all with this company. From the last minute unplanned requests such as replacing the gutters on the house to adding area drains, extending the fence three times(sorry Roger love you bro), moving the A/C unit and minor landscaping changes, every modification that we wanted done once we saw the pool coming to life was welcomed with enthusiasm and actually improved upon due to their experience which is obvious from day one. This is just another reason why we chose them. Quality equipment and precision installation is key for a long lasting pool and Passion Pools supplied both and much more. I have no regrets and would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering a pool or backyard renovation.

We DONOT recommend Passion Pools. They did not project manage and gave us a hard time over nearly every aspect of the pool. Our lights do not work properly, our plaster was done substandard and several mistakes were made which could not be corrected. They are crooks that work out of their trucks. Our neighbor had the same experience as well. We have no warranties on any of the work that was done by the contractors. You should not trust this guy Rob, he blame everyone but himself.
