I don’t write very many reviews but when I do it is because I really love the food and the people. I’ve been in the area for a couple of years, this stand is famous amongst the locals for the traditional Mexican Pollo Asado a.k.a. Grilled Chicken. For $ 46.00 bucks you can easily feed a family of five and have left overs for steak and sausage tacos the next morning. I usually get the number five with the whole chicken. The Salsas are on point, the chicken is juicy and tender and the steak and sausage are superb. Grab your favorite Mexican Coke or Jarrito and you’ve got a great fit for a king. They just added a outside dining area so order at the window and have a seat.

It’s very exciting to find some yummy Mexican food in Magnolia. I’ve tried three other places in town and was extremely disappointed. I always get the chicken tacos with sautéed onions and it is delicious especially with their green sauce and a squeeze of the juicy lime they include with the meal. The chicken is flavorful and tender. As for location, they have an excellent covered area with really nice tables and chairs. They also have a tv and sink right by them. Nicest set up I’ve ever seen for a food truck. Very impressive. They have benches for waiting, but you won’t sit for long because they’re quick! Really yummy food truck with good prices!

Magnolia doesn’t have many good food options. I should know, my family has lived here since 1998 and my parents still live in the area. But don’t be fooled, this food truck is not just great by Magnolia standards. If it were in any other part of the greater Houston area it would be equally as amazing. The meat is all grilled(as opposed to boiled or some other means) and always tastes fresh. I especially love the pastor which is basically a grilled pork chop seasoned in smoked paprika and chilies. On Friday and Saturday they are open late until 8:00PM and grill whole chickens for their weekend pollo asada specials. You can order a half chicken with sides and an ice cold sangria; It is delicious. They have also taken the time to make their patio dining area comfortable and accommodating. There is a sink to wash your hands, lots of tables under a pavilion that is enclosed by a tent-like tarp to keep out the wind. In short, this place is the real deal. It’s food is authentic and fresh, the picnic area is clean and comfortable, and the Mexican Cokes are always cold. It is ironic that while other lousy yet more established Mexican restaurants like Rancho Grande, Las Fuentes or Lindo Alcapulco get most of the attention, a taco food truck quietly sitting a little outside of town not only puts out some of the best food in the greater Houston area, but is arguably the best restaurant Magnolia has ever had.
