Mac’s Pizza

Sports bar feel, lots of families, nice environment, clean, lots of staff. Good and friendly service. Large menu, sandwiches and salads. I tried the supreme pizza. First, the crust is very good. Not to too thick, crisp/​chewy, good flavor. Nice amount of toppings, although cubes of ham roll off the pizza. Either go with a flatter shape or put them under the cheese. The only downside was a very heavy hand with the oregano. I can’t really comment on the sauce because it was overwhelmed by the herb. But, I’ll try Mac’s again.

The Don pizza was AWESOME! We needed a great place to eat good bar food, Drink some drinks, and watch sports. You will love this place. Come early to find a place to park because it’s always busy!

Great pizza, decent beer selection, friendly staff in a clean environment. Ample parking and sand volleyball with a nice patio. Could use a few more tv’s but overall a huge high five for Mac’s.

This is usually the hubby and I’s go-​to place for sports, beers & wings since we moved away from Clubhouse in Middletown. We give them a bit of an edge over Putter’s on 48… mostly due to the pretty decent beer list and nightly drink specials ($ 3 Long Islands on Tuesdays!). The wings are a decent size, definitely an improvement over BW3s. I am partial to the Thai sweet & spicy chili, the hubby opts for mild. Their pizza is also pretty good, but we usually opt for wings & other appetizers when we visit. They have a loaded tater tots shareable plate that’s new that’s pretty awesome… crispy tots, lots of cheese and a generous smattering of bacon (we opt for no green onions).
They have trivia on Tuesday nights, a sand volleyball court outside during nicer weather (if there’s not a league playing) and possibly the only downside… a couple of games/​claw prize things. Unfortunately, parents aren’t always great about watching their children at this place… they tend to let them run rampant sometimes… and this means if you have a table back by the games you’ll have to deal with alot of chaos.
They have a ton of TVs so I’m sure you could watch almost any game you wanted. If you want a more locally-​owned (small chain) place to kick back and grab a brew or watch your favorite team lose (not impressed this year New Orleans), check them out!

We live right down the street from macs and it is our go to bar around this area. We are here at least once a week. The bar staff is awesome (they’re friendly, attentive, and take great care of everybody), the food is amazing, and there are plenty of tvs around to watch sporting events. On Sunday’s they have 60 cent wings and also have a good draft beer and bottled beer selection for Sunday football. Some favorites that we get are the Chicago gyro pizza and the sweet chili wings. They even have a popcorn machine that you can get for free and munch on! We will continue to be coming here and you should check it out too!

Bartenders got us one drink and never came back to ask us for food or more drinks. There are 5 people at the bar total. We had to wave our arms to put in another order.

Great place. Food is consistent and good. Come at happy hour and domestic drafts are $ 2. Half prize apps too. Very friendly staff. Love this place.

Very laid back and casual atmosphere. Sand volleyball courts and outside covered patio. Cheesy garlic bread is to die for! Video games for the kids and bar area with a lot of variety. Definitely will be back.

I visited Macs Pizza Pub for the first time today. Picked up a carry out order. The place was very nice inside and the barmaid was nice. I had the Mac Burger I wasn’t happy at all. The burger was greasy and sloppy. One end of the burger was done as i got towards the middle it was med well. I wasn’t able to finish it for more reason than one.
That was my first time eating there. I might try it again, but will not order the burger. Don’t think I will ever order a burger again at a Pizza Joint. Lesson learned.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! Great pizza– my husband and I split the medium «Don». Cheesy and fresh and the sauce had a hint of spice. Crust was slightly sweet and not overly «bready». We’ll definitely be back. They could tone down the whole bar/​alcohol aspect a bit if they’re wanting to serve families better.

I’ve been to the Mac’s Pizza Pub location in Fairfax/​Mariemont and really had a great experience. The food was really good. On Mother’s Day, my husband’s family wanted to dine in at Mac’s Pizza in the Landen/​Maineville location. Wasn’t too happy with this place.
Everyone put in their order and I started off with a House Red Wine. I waited at least 20 minutes for them to give it to me. I had to ask another server if they can give it to me, because I saw it sitting at the bar. Maybe it was a good thing they gave it to me late, because we waited more than 40 minutes before we received our food. The restaurant was not even slammed. Which was surprising because it was Mother’s Day. I got the Tree Hugger (Vegetarian) 8″ Gluten free Pizza. Additional $ 2.00 for Gluten free and $ 1.00 extra for my toppings-​Artichokes, Sundried Tomatoes, Onions, and Basil (came to $ 15.00 for my pizza?!) It was good, but not for the price. Two of my family member’s order was also messed up, but I won’t go into detail. Don’t get me wrong, the young lady/​server was extremely sweet and apologized, but I’m sorry, the service was just too slow.
Nice atmosphere, food was good, restaurant was clean, however just didn’t like the service.
I just don’t see myself coming back. Sorry.

Good food, just slightly greasy. Decent beer selection. I enjoy the gyro pizza and loaded waffle fries. Can get a little loud when full of kids baseball teams after a game or during trivia night. I have been multiple times and sometimes there’s been great service, and sometimes not so much. Tvs a plenty for watching the game. Outdoor patio with sand volleyball too.

Get the pepperoni pizza.

I visited this restaurant this past week for Lunch. I was initially afraid to take my two daughters there for pizza with it being a pub also, but I soon realized that that was wrong to assume that.
We ordered just a cheese pizza (because the kiddo’s lack style and adventure) and let me tell you it was by far the best cheese pizza I have ever had.
The décor has a nice rustic feel with a hint of Ireland. Kind of if an Irish Pub, A NY pizza diner & Sports bar had a baby and that baby was Mac’s pizza. They have a game area for the kiddo’s and an outdoor area that has activities for the summer.
I can’t wait to come back, you wont be let down by this place.

My buddy and I have been here twice and we love it. Both times we had hot Buffalo wings and Chicago Gyro pizza.
The first time the pizza was dripping wet, but we knew it had great potential. I hate telling a kitchen how to do things or be insulting, but the second time I went ahead and asked the friendly waitress if she could ask the kitchen to drain the spinach real well, so she did, and the Chicago Gyro pizza came out completely amazing. My friend and I agreed it was the best pizza we’d ever had in the region.
The hot Buffalo wings are really something special. There’s an «x» factor flavor going on which I can’t identify, so they don’t taste exactly like a standard recipe, but they’re better. They’re exceptional.
Great place. Plenty of TVs for watching football, super friendly staff, amazing food, you can’t beat Mac’s.

The first time I visited Mac’s in Maineville was their opening week. The service was EXTREMELY slow.
My fiancé and I decided we wanted to go this past weekend (first visit for him) because we wanted to sit outside somewhere for dinner. The experience was much better the second visit. I believe our server’s name was Michelle. She was very attentive, nice, and knowledgeable about the menu selections. We enjoyed being able to sit outside and eat delicious pizza. We ordered the supreme pizza with waffle fries. Delicious!

Ok, so I was wrong… I did return to Mac’s to give it another chance. I was contacted regarding my review in concern for my first experience at this new restaurant. I really appreciate the way I was approached and how I was asked what would have made it a better experience for me. This tells me a lot about the people associated with this business and how they want to make dining there an enjoyable experience. Harold, thanks for convincing me to return and check it out again…
So moving on to the review… We were greeted promptly and seated quickly. The server, Alyson, was very nice and helpful. She took our drink order and appetizer request immediately. We started off by trying the pretzels again. The pretzesl were done perfectly and the queso beer cheese was just the right consistency, well done!
I decided to give the «Inferno Burger» a chance. I loved it, it was awesome. The burger was cooked perfectly and was so juicy. The spicy, hot toppings are exactly what I like and I savored every bite.
She ordered «The Don» pizza. This was an excellent choice. Fortunately for me, she was willing to give me a taste. The crust was light and cooked just right. The meatball pieces were crunchy on the outside and savory on the inside, again… Well done! The basil on the pizza is a perfect match to this great slice.
While there, we talked to Josh, the owner. He was very nice and personable. We discussed the food and many other topics. He is very into making your experience here a great one. It is obvious he is sincere about making his restaurant one people really want to return to and share with others.
Honestly, I will probably rate this restaurant at 5 stars upon my next visit as long as it is just like this most recent one. As much as I want to, I just can’t do it until I return at least one more time with one more experience to review.
I look forward to returning to Mac’s and enjoying another dining experience. Next time I think I will bring the kids and let them give it a try.

Our experience this time blew all the negative we experienced last visit out of the water. First, I was so impressed when Harold messaged me personally to invite us back and encourage us to give them another shot. We decided to try it again and were very pleased. It seems like Mac’s has worked out the kinks in staffing/​flow and we didn’t notice any of the rushing and scattered waitress/​waiters like last time. Also, we ordered the pretzels again and noticed that the sauce was thicker than last time – which was a big plus. Also, no cold pretzels. Whoop Whoop!
I also ordered a small «The Don» (no banana peppers). The meatballs on the pizza were perfect. Crunchy outside, soft warm center. Also, the basil and oregano on the pizza were a perfect seasoning addition. My boyfriend ordered «The inferno» burger and it was SPICY (which he loved). The bun on the burger was chibata-​esque and tasted very fresh. The waffle fries reminded me of Arby’s curly fries, but fresher — I MEAN COME ON — If I had only known this last time. Delicious!
Our server was Allison and was so great. Glasses were refilled before empty and she checked in just enough to be helpful and unobtrusive. Josh, the owner also took a moment to speak to us and make sure we had a more enjoyable experience this time.
Great comeback Mac’s! I will return.
