Was so looking forward to the Jamaican food Makin’ Jamaican was supplying to the company I work at for the employee lunch. On the menu was rice & beans, chicken curry, plantains, mixed veggies, meat pies and jerky chicken wings with sauce. First, the truck showed up 30 minutes late to our 60 minute break. Then he had to «set up» the truck which took another 10 minutes. While we all stood in the 100 degree heat, because there was only one person serving food to us, we couldn’t listen to the Jamaican(or Reggae) music. Apparently it was broken. So now there was a long line of hungry, sweating, grumpy people. Second, since the line was moving at sloth pace, one of our employees jumped into the truck to give the Makin’ Jamaican a helping hand. Did NOT expect the Makin’ Jamaican guy to stop and take a break. Really! Dude! You’re only working an hour or so. Last, Makin’ Jamaican ran out of food. Yup, not all employees got to sample the mixed veggies and plantains. Hope the vegetarians were first in line. I also believe the chicken wings and meat pies ran out right after i got my food. The rice was overcooked making the rice and beans dry and mushy. The chicken curry was watery and bland. Too many bones to pick out. The meat pies tasted like the ones i buy at Market Basket. Not to mention a few of us had some sort of metal in our food. Didn’t get to try the mixed veggies, plantains or the sauce. The only positive thing i can say was that the jerky wings were pretty good.

This truck had some issues with food supply running out but near a big festival with a lot of turnout you’d have to expect this & my tummy was saying«no mas.» so in my case I got fried plantains 7 they’re pretty good & still got them for when I get ready again.

I was walking back from the gym when I randomly stumbled upon this gem parked across from the Prudential building. Growing up, I had a few close Jamaican friends so I consider myself somewhat of an authority on the topic and let me just say this place is AUTHENTIC. I ordered the curry chicken with the jerk wings and I was in heaven. Next time I’ll try the vegetable patty and the coco bread! Can’t wait. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDYOUTRYITFORYOURSELF! p. s. brownie points for the authentic Jamaican music playing on their speakers. Very festive and fun!

This food truck was located right outside my office building. At noon, I ordered the Curry Chicken & Festival(fried Jamaican cornbread). PROS: –Little wait in line! –VISA/Credit Card friendly. –Festival was tasty and hot/fresh! –Chicken was incredibly tender & soft! CONS: –Chicken was a bit oily & very bland! -$ 9.00 for the Curry Chicken was a bit expensive. –Rice & beans were also very bland. Overall: An average meal — not amazing, but not terrible either. 3 of 5 stars.

I’ve been a few times and grabbed some Jamaican Patties, and the Curry Chicken, both of which are awesome. Really surprised I couldn’t find them on here yet.
