We recently renovated our kitchen and bathroom. A handyman friend of ours recommended we check this place out and we are so happy we did. They have everything you’d ever need for tiles. They carry an excellent selection at good prices. Larry, Steph and the rest of the staff were so helpful with showing us our options and picking out our selections from start to finish. We would definitely recommend William Smethurst and Son for any of your tile needs.

Most tile ordered from a specialty tile store is not returnable. I think people get used to the big box mentality. Go to a big box and get different lots, color variations etc… It’s that reason they are mostly not returnable. They’re fairly priced for the higher quality they sell. Again, not the cheap stuff like the box stores. Being a Malden business also, I can understand some of the frustration people experience, maybe they can communicate that better… but from one professional in the industry … they are my go-to for tile. Much cheaper than that «T» tile in Stoneham. And way better quality than the big orange or blue boxes down the street.

Do not do business with these folks. They are thieves. On three ocasions, I made large purchases here. Being from Malden, I prefer to buy locally. I bougt some tile that was sampled on the wall, no one told me it was non returnable. Bring a box back to the store, I was informed that it was a special order and they would not accept the remaining box. Going forward, I wlll do everything I can to expose their predations. The salesman, Larry has always been helpful but stated «if it were him, he would allow the return

This place is conveniently located, and has great prices. BUT the hours are very limited and they do not communicate them very well. So maybe its not easy for them to update the website, but how hard is it to update the outgoing phone message?
