cute little place, very euro-american-continental bistro-y. friendly, attentive service. fantastic meal, made to order and enough to fill me up and still have enough for a satisfying lunch the next day. prices were reasonable given quality and portions. i’d say the meal i had here was better than most other restaurants i’ve been to in/around boston.

This place was awesome. I went there with my wife and friend, she ordered the steak dish which had the most perfectly cooked piece of steak and it was so flavorful. I had the seafood pasta which felt lite but yet was delicious and flavorful. The other dish we tried was the paella and again, cooked perfectly and well flavored. We definitely recommend this small treasure in Malden

Wish I had tried this places ages ago. Totally empty on a Friday night(actually made me feel kind of sad), adorable décor, friendly service and delicious food. Feels quaint and authentic like the North End, but without the line around the block, over hyped menu, outrageous prices and idiotic tourists.

My husband and I went here for the first time last week and LOVED it. Went on a Friday night and there were only two tables besides ourselves — we were amazed the place wasn’t packed because it was that good. It’s a rare restaurant that makes me want to keep eating even after I’m full, and then lick the plate besides. This is one of those restaurants. Highly recommended!

A local, hidden gem… Tivoli’s is one of the best restaurants on the North Shore. Small, and hidden away in Malden, it is a great little place. Nice atmosphere. Husband is the chef and the wife is the waitress… I have never had anything less than an outstanding meal at this place. I love Tivoli’s…I hope they are around for a long time.

Must try… the owner/chef is great and every meal is carefully prepared. can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Its shocking that some other restaurants(Massimo’s) in malden get the same rating… «I can eat fifty eggs.»

Don’t miss this place. Nice atmosphere. Warm, great service. Delicious food. I got the fishermans stew $ 3 cup and piella $ 19-$ 21 can’t remember but enough for 2 people. Easy to park on the street.

This is a great little restaurant. 3 of us ordered a steak, seafood and chicken dish, respectively and everyone was raving about their choice. There was a special the night we went but we ordered from the menu. This is more of a Continental type restaurant with a small menu of high-quality items. Dinner for 3(no appetizers) with one nice bottle of wine was $ 120 before tip. I think that’s a steal for food of this quality.

We had been hearing about this restaurant for a while now from a friend and finally got the chance to check out Tivoli. I mistakenly thought this was an Italian restaurant but it’s more like a French bistro with some comfort food and Italian too. The décor is nice. I will say I thought the menu was pretty small but the place itself is small — about 40 seats and one waitress and two cooks. We were sure there would be specials mentioned but it’s just the menu. My husband had the mussels as an appetizer and they were great — I opted for the caesar salad and it was so-so…a few brown leaves on the plate:(I had the sausage and pasta and it was really good and my husband had the steak which was also good. We had coffee and a biscotti each for dessert — they were also good. I’d definitely go back to Tivoli but I won’t be in a huge rush to get back there.

I decided to give Tivoli’s a try a few years ago. I’ve been living in Malden since 2000 and I always passed by it after shopping at Super Stop & Shop. Since then I’ve been back there one or twice every week! Obviously I love it. The place is small but very clean and neat. The pumped in music is very soothing and pleasant. The waitress is the wife of the cook – they own the restaurant. She’s always friendly, easy to talk to and made some good recommendations. At one point I ordered a fish dish and she told me that I might not like them(she was right). Also I have an allergic reaction to mushrooms and she makes sure all my dishes don’t have them. Great wine selection too. I’ve never had a bad meal there and it’s always very calming and relaxing after a hard day at work. Also the prices are very affordable. Also, if you’re alone, they treat you just as good as if you were with a large group of people. Other restaurants have treated me badly for going alone – not Tivolis. It’s very popular and can get crowded on a Friday and especially Saturday night(there are two waitresses on then – which is needed). If you plan going on a Saturday night with a party making reservations is strongly recommended. I’d say this is easily one of the best raustants in Malden. Well worth going to.

Tivolis does Italian food, but this is not a pasta joint. They do have a few pasta options on the appetizer side, and they can serve meals with pasta if they have enough of it. I got the chicken piccata with pasta and it was delicious. My friend & I loved the sauce. Portions are not overwhelming like many places, which is good, and I still couldn’t finish my meal. They serve soft herb breadsticks instead of the usual bread & dipping oil, and the breadsticks were good. Wine was affordable, as Paulette mentioned. They only do a few desserts, but we didn’t try it. It’s a nice option if you are in the area. Service is was good and extremely friendly, though quite slow, because there were only a few servers and the appoximately 15 tables were mostly full. We didn’t mind(why rush?), but if you are hurried, this might not be the choice.

We’ve been to Tivolis several times and always really enjoyed our experience there — good food, good service and a great atmosphere. The food is great, especially the tournedoes. Service will take a little longer just because they don’t have a lot of staff, but it’s not from lack of attention to the customers.

I love this restaurant. Wonderfully, eclectic menu. The warm scallop salad is terrific as is the escargot. Other favorites include Chicken Francesca and the mushroom risotto. The wine list is good and reasonable. Try the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, it’s to die for! Service can be slow when busy. Be prepared for a leisurely dinner and enjoy.

Was not impressed with the food here. It seems like chef is a little bored cooking the same boring things over and over. I was first bored by the selection on the menu… yawn. I got the chicken piccata and forgot what I had ordered because I had to search for the capers. On the plus side the place was clean and the wine affordable.
