Worst Chipotle in the country! Horrible service. Dirty place and filthy staff. Don’t visit unless you are dying of hunger.

Have to agree with the other reviewers who have stated that it’s hit or miss and as one said ‘they can’t seem to wrap burritos here’ Owner-manager foes have to do a better job at this location.

The service is terrible! They’re very slow and unorganized. Frequently there is only one person working the line while other employees are just standing around. The tables are always dirty. Have to ask for them to be cleaned so I don’t have sit in someone else’s slop.

Let me start by saying I love Chipotle. I eat at their restaurants at least two to three times a week all over Southern California. I frequent the restaurant in Malibu because it’s where I live and it’s the most convenient Chipotle for me. But, this is by far the worst service and dirtiest location I have ever encountered. Every time I go in the tables are dirty and there’s usually only one person behind the counter while everyone else is standing behind them watching. Last time I was there I complained to the manager and she really didn’t seem to care. It sucks that this is the closest Chipotle to me and I can’t even go there because of the terrible service

This was one of the most clean Chipotles I have even visited. Service was fast — the long line went quickly. The food prep are was tidy and clean and they made by lunch salad burrito just how I like it.

I have a class every Wednesday evening at Pepperdine and always look forward to my weekly fix of Chipotle before it… Tonight is the 7th consecutive week I’ve visited this chipotle before class, and the 7th consecutive time my burrito fell apart in the first 10 seconds of eating it. A 5 year old who has never had the pleasure of even seeing a burrito could wrap these things better than the kids at this chipotle location. I wanted to take and post a picture of the explosion of would be burrito contents that didn’t make it, but my hands were covered in sour cream because of said explosion and I didn’t want smudge my phone. I will give this location one more shot at successfully wrappin my meat before I abandon this franchise. TEACHYOUREMPLOYEESHOWTOWRAP A BURRITO! P. s. You’d think this location would be on top of their game, since, you know, the founder of the company went to Pepperdine.

I was just reading this Unilocal page because I have a free dinner at Chipote to use and Cross Creek is the closest. But, it seems to be the utmost terrible place so I think I will save it for when I am down in the Marina tomorrow. When you skimp on cheap people to work for a company, this company, it shows in the reputation of the store, manager and higher ups. You should take pride in your hiring bright people with manners and a little bit of education and smarts; it would go a long way.

Came to this Chipotle with my mom and brother. Thought the food was great and the service was friendly. Better than Chipotle in New York on both fronts. Yeesh, tough crowd in Malibu apparently.

This place is a hit or miss. For the most part the service is terrible. The employees seem miserable and the manager is a dick! Nobody smiles or engages in small talk. It feels very dreary and dark in there. The food is usually fresh however my sister found a hair in bottom of her burrito bowl… After she ate the whole thing. She has blonde hair and it was a black hair so we knew it wasn’t her own. She showed the assistant manager and he said«do you want another burrito?» She said«no I just ate this whole thing I’m full“he responded«would you like a burrito bowl?» She stared at him and politely replied«try again…» And he said«oh uh do you want a refund?» She said«yes». He never once apologized or had any sort of customer service manners. However how can we blame this guy since the actual manager of this chipotle is a dick? He had to learn from somebody. The manager never leaves the back. He sits in a chair and leans back twirling a pen. Every time I go in there that’s where he is. One time it was really busy and his employees were scrambling to get the ingredients out and the register was broken. He never once got up to help. He has never come around to ask customers how the food is. He just doesn’t know how to manage. So in turn his employees struggle and it shows.

Terrible service 8 people in here only three of them actually working. Came up to ask for a sauce that wasn’t out. Got a response and then she kept on doing what she was doing without yelling back to one of the 8 people in the back doing nothing to bring one up. Bogus

This location is an absolute dump. Whoever owns this Chipotle is clueless. The people working there are brain dead, the food preparation is clearly lacking quality control. The service is slow as molasses, it’s as if they all started working their first day on the job. Calling in a take out order is a chore in itself, every person I’ve talked to on the phone is confused and difficult to understand. I have to repeat myself over and over. Then walking into the joint to pick up the food is like Lord of the Flies, chaotic, loud, dirty, slow and confusing, and 100% of the time they can’t locate or know what I ordered. Hey owner/management, you need a serious overhaul and a crap load of training videos to bring this dump up to speed. Fail. Negative 10 stars.

If I could give zero stars I would. This location is in serious need of an owner and manager who care just the slightest about their customers. I’ve come at least seven times and every time the food is either cold or they skimp to the point that there’s basically half a bowl of food. Seriously, go across to John’s Garden or Sunlife or Mutt’s or anywhere else. I’m done supporting this place

I visited this«restaurant» yesterday and I’m really wishing I hadn’t. I waited in line for what seemed to be at least 10 minutes only to come up to a girl who is a sorry excuse for a human being. Very unfortunately, she works for a leading chain in the food and service industries. I visit Chipotle a lot and each time I do so, once i’m up in line, I say, «Hi. I’m gluten and dairy free. Would you mind switching out your gloves for me?» EVERY — SINGLE — TIME this is what I say(word for word). This chick proceeds to give me a dirty look, tilt her head at me and say, «are you really gonna have a reaction if I don’t do it?» I replied, «does it make a difference?» She counters with something like, «it’s gonna take me forever, it makes no sense.» At this point, I ask for someone else to help me out. She turns to her manager who was RIGHTBEHINDHERTHEENTIRETIME and that girl gives her what looks to be a nonchalant nod and tells her to proceed as I’ve asked. Mind you, there was only one man in line after me at that time… Anyway, she washes her hands and puts on new gloves only to come back and rub her hands ALLOVER the tortillas which is one of the main and overriding reasons I ask for glove switch-outs in the first place. I let her know what she’s doing, seeing as how she’s clearly not competent enough to be aware on her own, and she goes, «you said you were dairy free.» The person accompanying me then interrupts and says, «no, I can assure you he said, ‘GLUTEN and dairy.’» Meanwhile, the line continues to build behind me. At this point, I’ve been so incredibly disrespected and insulted that I have been given no choice but to slightly raise my tone in asking her what the hell her problem is. I must’ve used a swear word because she had the AUDACITY to say something like, «sir, just because you’re having a bad day doesn’t allow you to use profanities.» So now I have some cunt with a 20-foot stick up her vagina telling me that I’m having a bad day. Needless to say, people in line were shaking their heads and looking at me to see how I’ll react. This girl is an EMBARRASSMENT. I feel bad for everyone in her life and any customer who has the displeasure of having to deal with her at Chipotle. I finally told her to forget it and began to leave. Quickly I figured I’d turn back to at least give the manager a piece of my mind as this is FAR-AND-AWAY the WORST experience I have EVER had at any food joint. I did so and the manager simply says, «I’m sorry about that, I will talk to her.» Well, that just helps me a whole ton, doesn’t it? Nice resolution. This restaurant will never again have my business until the stupid bitch I had to deal with gets fired and the manager is demoted or gets her shit together. P. S. The reason that this is an ever bigger deal for me is because I have an autoimmune disorder. I legitimitely do all I can to avoid foods I shouldn’t be eating. But I shouldn’t have to tell a fucking server this. She should be aware of the diverse needs of people who come through those doors and be ready to tailor to them however necessary as that’s her job. Another customer who left a review here hit the nail on the head when he wrote that this place employs the otherwise unemployable. That is the absolute truth. HORRIBLESERVICE. AVOIDTHISSHIT-HOLE. EDIT: I reached-out to Chipotle via their website about this incident. I was«assured» that this wouldn’t be taken lightly and that measures are being taken however none of that was specifically disclosed. Also, they offered me nothing other than an apology to mend the experience. Epic fails all around. Everyone involved should be ashamed.

The food didn’t seem fresh. The bread felt like I was chewing rubber and as someone else stated within the comments, they put a very small amount of meat. The amount of meat wouldn’t even please the small birds outside. I ended up ordering a double wrap burrito with double chicken, and guacamole. I really regret ordering the guacamole because they managed to have it end up all the way at the bottom of the burrito. The rice and pinto beans were also clustered all the way at the bottom. In general it was a poorly made burrito. By the time I got the food, the burrito was cold. If you want a real chiptole burritos, its better to drive a few miles more to find a normal one.

Very disappointed with how this particular chipotle has gotten run down, filthy and crappy service lately! You’d think being in Malibu, would give the management keep their store in good working order. But this is the third time I’ve come in and the tables were dirty, the ice tea was out, the lemonade spout wasn’t working. The tables outside were disgusting and there was overflowing trash cans inside and out. Then to make matters worse, we ordered a quesrito burrito and were told that they Have to charge $ 3.50 extra for that now!!! Because«it holds up the line» WTF?!! I’m gonna pay $ 3.50 for an ounce of CHEESE?!! I’m already paying that for a gallon of GAS! I will NOT be back to this location again! Clean up your act! And by the way… All the employees are RUDE and have an attitude that is NOT conducive to customer service. What happened to the Chipotle Business model?!! This is THEWORSTLOCATIONEVER!

I wish I could rate this chipotle 0 stars!!! The staff is the most incompetent bunch of idiots I have ever encountered. It was as if the hiring manager put an ad on Craigslist and the headliner stating«Looking for the biggest clowns in LA.» I work in the Malibu area and my coworkers and I frequent Chipotle pretty often. I guarantee… every time we visit this location, multiple orders are wrong or they forget to put something in the bag. It is not difficult to put some meat and cheese in a bowl. My 5 year old sister can do that. The staff is also very immature and always goofing around. Maybe if they spent less time playing with one another, they can actually get orders correct. I’ve visited many chipotle locations and I have never encountered such an unprofessional staff. The taste of the food is consistent(when they get the order right… rarely) but other than that, this chipotle is worthless! They need to fire all the staff and the hiring manager and start over fresh!

I like Chipotle’s food and I was so excited we got one in Malibu. But they ran out of EVERYTHING at my visit. They didn’t even have rice! Meanwhile, the dining room tables and floors were a total mess while the staff played around in the back. Get your act together, guys.

Love chipotle, but this location was horrible! They skimmed on every single item I asked for, dumping out half what they scooped up(salsa). That wasn’t even the worst part, the rice was not cooked at all. Not edible.
